Impact of FF thru recorded shows.
Watch 4 hours of programs in less than 3 hours of real time.
Thank you for your answer. Please go back and vote in the poll.
Compressing an hour long show to 40 minumtes is a good thing
FF sure beats hitting the mute button during commercials. Even better is the skip feature. I've learned that hitting that button five times quickly gets me through the commercials immediately when we're watching recorded CBS Evening News.
Sometimes, though, when we are watching TV live, it's interesting to watch the commercial while muted. Quite often you don't find out who the sponsor is until you get close to the end of 30-second spot.
I do it to save time and skip commercials...add that option to our poll and I'll be happy to vote. I save 18-22 minutes per hour show, and 6-8 minutes per half hour show.
When I was a child I read a lot.
I always thought they put in commercials so I could read while I watched TV.
I still do, no skipping commercials here, but they do get ignored. Mostly
I FF to avoid the commercials and enhance the viewing experience. I have been watching TV since it's "Golden Age" and have never been motivated by a commercial to purchase the product or service they advertise.
I don't use FF, I use Skip. As others have said that allows me to watch more TV in less time.
Can't vote since no SKIP option in the poll. That being said, skip commericals and don't miss them at all.
repeative? Maybe repetitive? Anyway, never used FF always use skip. Wife on occasion uses FF but not for commercials, just to watch a show (like Dr Oz) quickly. She can speed watch.
I was not aware DTV had a skip option. Please provide more info.
Didn't vote because I always use 30-sec slip. You can pretty much figure depending on what time-slot the commercials are in, how many to stack. Also, if it's a commercial that catches my attention, I'll go back and watch it... but for the most part, once you've seen it once, no need to ever watch it again.
30SKIP & 30SLIP. Read more here:
The button right above the FF button is a 30 second SLIP button.
If you go into Menu, Search and search for 30Skip I have read that it changes the SLIP to a SKIP. I have not done this since I use FF3 mode for commercials.
The iPad app remote control has a 2.5 min slip feature, love it, but a lot of shows seem to have about 4 min of commercials now so I often stack a couple 30 sec slips on there.
My favorite commercial to FF through is that directv commercial that has the guy who wont help his neighbor pack the van. Thanks for the trusty FF button!
I voted to enhance my viewing but, I also do not use FF I use SKIP
Did not know SKIP existed until coming here today. Can't wait to get home and try it out. Finding this forum reminds me of looking up cheat codes for SNES and Genesis games.
30 sec skip forward for me too, no ff
