Me too... a VERY LONG time ago...
Yeah not high on my list either, but I'll take it! I welcome all new basic HD channel additions.
Having said that, only adding 1 or 2 HD channels at a time is going to take forever to get more of the HD channels on my list! Haha oh well! Just keep them coming Directv!
I'm ebarrassed to say how repetive E! channel programming is. Right now I'm only "excited" to see the Kardashians (not "Khloe and Lamar", show); premiere "The Kardashians," MAY 20.
May I please trade my wishes TruTv and E! HD for Nat Geo WILD '.'
You were given this channel because of your avatar. Come on man!
Did my Signature help as well SatRacer?
Doesn't anyone else think the HD picture is soft? I immediately noticed this on thursday night while True Hollywood Story - Giuliana Rancic was on. The pic was consistenly soft throughout the program. Then I checked Chelsea Lately and the quality was the same. Wasn't bad but a significant difference between E! HD and other HD channels.
:lol:QUOTE=Skyboss;3002055]I heard it will carry basket tossing events.[/QUOTE]
 I heard they were going to show how to watch paint dry. Could this be true?
Yes! I immediately noticed exactly what you describe. I don't know if the softness is a problem from E! itself or from DirecTV. Even this somewhat soft HD picture is better than SD, but yeah, I'd like to see an improvement.
Is it because E! Is the 6th channel on a transponder?
Not sure about that, but the channel on Xfinity is much sharper than the one on D* doing a A/B comparison. Especially noticeable in the corner bug.
Nevermind, there is a bug in the HR34. Even with Hide SD Duplicates turned on, the damn DVR was still tuning to the SD version of E!. After I edited the favorites list to remove the checkmark on E! SD, and added the checkmark to E! HD, the channel looks a lot better now on D*, but its still a tad bit fuzzier than Xfinity.
I rarely watch E! but I checked it out when I knew the HD feed lit. I noticed the same thing, "soft" picture, a little blurry. Perhaps it's a source issue with E!'s feed.
I can do a fios compare but right now there is a show from 2004 on and it looks crappy on both. The bug looks the same...
I'm happy for more HD. I long for the day when everything is in HD, and I wish Directv had an 'HD only' channel package that I could get at a cheaper rate. I only watch one SD channel (TCM) as it is, non-HD channels are useless to me.
The Soup seemed pretty sharp, looking at the bricks behind Joe them looked to be quite clear. Maybe Chelsea & Giuliana have "HD Softness" built into their contracts
It does seem a little soft to me too. But no softer than Dish Network's feed. Its still much better than overcompressed SD. I'm fine with a little compression to get better than SD pictures for now. When D14 is put in service and more bandwidth is available, then adjustments can be made for sure.
It is a Comcast network though, and Comcast is known for super compressing their feeds. Transponder space costs BIG money. The more they can deliver per transponder the more value they get for that service. No point in DirecTV setting aside bandwidth for a channel when its source never fills that bandwidth. TruTV HD is a 6th channel on a transponder and that looks great. Indistinguishable from something else like Comedy HD for example.
What other channels are on this transponder? If the other 5 networks look soft, we know its a 6:1 compression issue. If not, then its most likely a E! source feed issue. Blame Comcast.
OK we have E! HD now. Next.
E! looks pretty good in HD. I watched some Chelsea Handler last night and even laughed a couple of times.
Yeah me n the gf too, we've never watched it before cuz D*'s SD lite looks worse than a 1950s kinescope. Ditto with The Soup, funny stuff.
I saw that E! True Hollywood Story as well. I know your talking about PQ, but I could not pull myself away from watching it. She's a sweet & funny person.
I like your new avatar.
