    Two powerful armies are working for EchoStar Communications Corp. as it fights efforts to squash its $25 billion merger with competitor DirecTV.
    One is a phalanx of high-powered lobbyists and lawyers, including the law firm that helped the United States government try to breakup Microsoft.
    The other is composed of people such as Ethel Randolph, 58, a wheat and cattle farmer from the southeastern corner of Colorado
