eSata noob question (sorry)

    Did you test the drive by just hooking it up to one of the internal SATA ports as well? That could tell you if the drive is bad or not.

    UPDATE: It appears I had a bad eSATA Enclosure. It did not work on my PC either, and I bought it at Fry's which means the odds are 50/50 anyhow that it'll work.

    I took Rich's advice and got the 2TB WD with the ThermalTake enclosure, purchased at Amazon, and it all works great.
