That looks like a bad idea right now.

Wow, this is bad. Never seen the screen do this before.

I don't know what's going on. We're having bad weather here in Cali, but it seems this is a regional problem.

Yes, DIRECTV has confirmed there are problems with ESPN right now. The latest update did not include an estimate for repair, they are working on it.

I'll continue to post updates as I get them.

<personal note> I do not know if this is a problem at the provider side (ESPN), transmission to DIRECTV, or DIRECTV side of things.

    Cheers,
    Tom

Mocciat and everyone, you're very welcome. I'm happy to do my part.

I share the thanks to the many great CSRs who frequent DBStalk and pass these updates to us all via PMs to moderators. Thanks!

Passing on the word regaurding the specific issue---root cause-- would help to illiminate calls to CSRs, message boads, etc...

It would add to the list of multiple excusses as to why the overall delivery system is just not there yet.

I see video and audio problems every day....and so do friends and family that don't yet have but are interested in HDTV via DTV. Yeah, it looks great 98% of the tie but that 2% is a PITA.

Tough to sell them on how great it is when problems occur regularly and are never adequately explained.

"Live TV can be that way" does not sell the issue any more when their OTA ar SD picture does not have theses issues.
