    ok so the 4 lines come from the dish to 4 8 way directv splitters.....than from the 8 splitters the lines go into swm 16 multi switch's

    you are splitting polarities to the stack plan. although with 8 ways, a polarity locker must be used before the splitter and perhaps an amp as well

    While it does not go into detail about multiple parallel switches, this document also explains the stack plan, different voltages and tones, etc.

    Whenever you run switches in parallel, every line from a given splitter must go to the same input on each multiswitch. For example, coax 1 from the dish to splitter 1 input. Splitter 1 outputs go to the 13V no-tone input on each multiswitch. Coax 2 from the dish to splitter 2 input. Splitter 2 outputs go to the 13V 22KHz input on each multiswitch. Etc. If you do not follow this process, then conflicting signals (voltage/tone requests from the switch toward the dish) will appear on a given coax line, and you will get a failure somewhere along the line.
