there have been some make up WGN games in that time frame that where only on WGN 9 and other teams can show some make up games locally only as well.

Weird, the Yankees intentionally scheduled a game that is in the Fox window? I thought those games couldn't be televised at all like the Mariners game at home vs the Twins but the Yankees game gets to be televised locally. What is the difference here?

Fox has been having games in the 4pm slot which allowed for the 1pm games to be shown. For whatever reason today's game is 3pm which blacks out all games between 1 and 7.

The Yankees always schedule their Saturday games at 1pm regardless of what Fox does.

The better question is why is Fox allowed to randomly pick a start time which affects 2 start times instead of just one.

It starts at 1:05 not 1:10 when the blackout starts so it won't be available out of market but in market is fine.

My question is why are the Yankees allowed to televise their game in market but not the Mariners? Seems like a double standard is happening here.

The "double standard" is because of the time zones. A 1:05 start time in New York is outside of Fox's window, but a 1:05 start time in Seattle is squarely inside it.

If Seattle had pushed their start time back to 4:05 Pacific (or later), they'd have been allowed to televise today.

I'm sure it is not random and some sort of option is in the contract.

As for the odd time, fox has UFC tonight. Maybe they wanted to make sure there was not an overlap?

With the rain delay in today's Mets/Nationals game it would have came real close if it started at 4pm and instead of one inning to play after the delay they had 4 innings.

As for Seattle's game starting in the middle of the Fox window, the UFC event was in Seattle too and they likely didn't want the traffic from both events ending at the same time.

I'm pretty sure rain delayed games are allowed to resume on TV even if during an exclusive broadcast window.

That's not the point, the point was that Fox had UFC starting at 8pm, and if the game started at the usual 4pm start time instead of an hour earlier, they would have had about 4 more innings to play when the game resumed instead of 1, which would cut it real close to the start time for the UFC event.

Joe, where did you get that list and map? I know there is one each week for the NFL season, but never saw one for other sports.
