I get Genie updates and suggestions once or twice a week and find them both intersting and helpful. The other day I got once about using Pandora and other extra's but I noticed they were both gone from my Extra screens' on both my Genie HR44 and HR24, what happened to them?

Press the DASH button on your DirecTV remote, does the pop up message indicates "Internet: Connected"?

Yes, it shows that I am connected to the internet. I didnt know about the dash (-) function but that also shows connected to the internet. All that I see listed in Extras are:
Messages, Active, TV Apps, Caller ID, Showroom. All the other "options" are gone such as Pandora, You Tube, ect. This is the case on my Genie HR44 and my HR24. Also, when I hit Menu, and enter Search & Browse, if I then enter: "Movies" on both DVR's I get a message at the bottom right of the screen saying: "Movies is currently updating. Please check back in 1 hour."

Could be server issues. If your connected to the Internet, as it appears you are, try resetting.

Well i see Parental Cotrols on the top banner when I change channels but in the Extras Group they are not there. Im sorry, what did you mean by: "A waste of time"
I have no internet and connection issues that I am aware of. My PC is online with no issues and in Settings on both HR44 and HR24 it shows me connected. Not having Pandora and YouTube is a pain.

If Web Videos is missing from the Parental Control menu, then an addition software, which contains the Pandora & YouTube icons, got corrupted on your DVR.

You still have access to YouTube in Smart Search, but Pandora is gone until you get another randomly download of this additional software.

Haven't seen anywhere on how this additional software can forcefully be safely reissue.

Well it seems strange that I lost that on both DVRS, my new Genie was installed on the 14th and my HR24 i have had for a while. If there was a corruption, you would think it would have affected just one but who knows.
Does D download new software from time to time? What if i did the old, rebot and 02468 like cutting edge?

Reboot the STB, then once you are in step 2 of 2 reboot it again. Once ithe STB comes up Pandora and YouTube should come back within 12 to 24 hours.

You will also lose your posters and guide cache, those will take 24-48 hours to repopulate.

    Thanks Doug,
What did you mean by STB? OK..when I reboot, did you mean just a standard reboot or did you mean using the 0 2 4 6 8 method. Then when it gets to step 2 (i think thats"receiving Sat info), I hould hit the red reset button? Just want to be sure

I'd just hit RBR both times because it's easier.

No need to do 02468. In fact, that's a bad idea.

    Doug,
Just to let you know, your suggestion worked perfectly, in fact the missing "extras" appeared on my Genie in minutes after the double re-boot and showed up in about 6 hours on my HR24. Thanks again for your ideas..

Hmmmm, I think you heard from the author of that solution.

In any event, glad you're sorted now.

What he had was his Guide data corrupted, I think. Flushing the Guide helps in many instances. Gotta admit it didn't jump out at me in this case, but I'm glad it worked.

Different procedures- rather, different timing depending on the purpose.
