I agree with Bill Shatner, who cares if they only had one hit. One hit wonders are some of the best songs ever made. What are your favorites?

Too many to list, but here's a few:

    • My Sharona - The Knack
    • Fantasy - Aldo Nova
    • 867-5309 - Tommy Tutone

Elvis made 'Hound Dog' the hit that it was.
But Big Mamma Thorton wrote it and performed it first.

Friday on My Mind. The Easybeats. Great stuff.

    EVERYBODY SING ALONG....

    Monday morning feels so bad
    Everybody seems to nag me
Come on Tuesday I feel better
Even my old man looks good
    Wednesday just won't go
    Thursday goes too slow
I've got Friday on my mind

Gonna have fun in the city
Be with my girl, she's so pretty
    She looks fine tonight
She is outa' sight to me

    Tonight, I'll paint it red
    Tonight, I'll lose my head
Tonight, I've got to get tonight
Monday I have Friday on my mind

Do the five day drag once more
No one, nothing else that bugs me
Now I'm working for the rich man
But I'll change his tune one day

    Tonight I'll get mad
    Tomorrow I'll be glad
'Cause I've got Friday on my mind

Gonna have fun in the city
Be with my girl she's so pretty
    She looks fine tonight
She is outa' sight to me

    Tonight, I'll paint it red
    Tonight, I'll lose my head
Tonight, I've got to get tonight
Monday I have Friday on my mind

    Yeah

Gonna have fun in the city
Be with my girl she's so pretty
Gonna have fun in the city
    Gonna have some fun
Be with my girl she's so pretty
    Gonna have some fun

Gonna have fun in the city
    Gonna have some fun
Be with my girl she's so pretty
    In the city tonight
Gonna have fun in the city

I knew someone was singing along with me. A bit off key though aren't you? I just love doing that to people. :goodjob: That song has to have some of the best hooks in the history of rock n roll. I haven't gotten it out of my mind since I posted it.

Eagle Eye Cherry - "Save Tonight"

New Radicals - "You Get What You Give"

    Fastball - "The Way"

Twisted Sister - "We're Not Gonna Take It"

Stroke 9 - "Little Black Backpack"

    Semisonic - "Closing Time"

Nine Days - "Absolutely (Story Of A Girl)"

The Mighty Mighty Bosstones - "The Impression That I Get"

Goldfinger - "Here In Your Bedroom"

Turning Japanese- The Vapors. The first song my wife and I danced to.

The Night Chicago Died- Paper Lace

Billy Don't be a Hero- Bo Donaldson and the Haywoods

Save Tonight - Eagle Eye Cherry(?)

    Closing Time- Semi-sonic

Night Chicago Died and Don't be a Hero are 2 of the great schlock rock hits of my youth:) Remember it's favorite wonders not best

Love the show on VH-1 with Capt Kirk

Edit: Hey Kevin, you took some of mine! I don't think Fastball is a 1 hit wonder. They had 3 songs that got quite a bit of play on the radio. The Way, Fire Escape, and Out of my Head.

Kevin, I must be getting old. I know of the first song only.
You need to download a copy of the song I mentioned above if you want some real good music. Then again, you might not want to unless you want to end up like James and never get it out of your head. :D
