I have just recently made the move to HDTV and D*. In mid-Jan. I "purchased" an H20, R15, and D10. Though it is nice to have locals in HD, I miss having a DVR, especially one that could record in HD, for my TV. With the rollout of the HR20 atleast 4 months away and starting on the other side of the county, could I deactivate my H20, and pick up a HR10-250 and activate it in it's place. I understand that there is now a lease system in place. My concern is that though I purchased my H20 before this whole lease system started, that I have somehow locked myself into using it. I know calling a CSR, in theory, would be the proper person to ask this, but experience with CSR's at both Direct and Dish has made that the last possible alternative. Thanks for any help you guy's can give, and let me say also how much I appreciate this forum and everyone who post's here who have made my switch to HD alot easier then it could have potentially been.

Not really sure what your asking, but .. If you are going to switch your Receiver with another you can as long as you are not downgrading Meaning H20 is Hi Def,you cant replace it with a standard Def Receiver because you more then likely have a 24 month contract. The HR 10 Is Hd so you should be ok. They might give you a hard time with the access card,,,they might ask you to buy a new one Unless the new receiver you buy comes with a brand new one.
