I watch these channels a bunch.
FX has some hilarious shows (The League, Wilfred, etc)
    Nat Geo is amazing.
Speed broadcasts NASCAR and F1. I never miss a single practice, qualifying or race. I would really upset if there is a disruption.

I really hope this gets resolved on time. It will, right? Neither side really wants these channels to go down do they?

I found this article kind of interesting considering the situation going on between both parties.

    http://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/directv-threatens-pull-fox-networks-251568

"They have given us no chance to respond before taking an unnecessarily aggressive posture and going public," Fox said.

DirecTV has told Fox Networks that it will drop the channels Nov. 1 if the two companies don't come to an agreement in the ongoing carriage dispute.

Fox said late Thursday that it has offered an extend during the ongoing negotiations but that DirecTV "has informed us and their customers that unless we agree to their demands, they 'will suspend our networks on Nov. 1.'"

Fox added that DirecTV sent a proposal out Tuesday.

"They have given us no chance to respond before taking an unnecessarily aggressive posture and going public," Fox Networks said in a statement. "It is disappointing that they have chosen bad faith tactics over meaningful negotiation.

"We have proposed to keep the Fox Networks on DirecTV for the same price, and on the same terms as they are currently carried while we attempt to work out a fair agreement. Unfortunately, DirecTV has decided that unless they get their way, they are going to pull the plug on their customers Nov. 1."

Best defense is a good offense. DirecTv must have taken this out of Fox's playbook.

A scumbag company like Fox whining about DirecTV's tactics. Too funny.

That’s what prompted me to expand my Comcast subscription from basic HD to the full suite of HD channels available in my DMA. If DirecTV loses National Geographic HD for a prolonged period, at least I’ll be able to see it on Comcast but will miss EPL games on FSC.

BTW, if DirecTV now is drawing a more comprehensive “line in the sand” with sports programming (including RSNs) than occurred with Versus, I wonder how the next ST negotiations will proceed given the NFL’s demands may escalate substantially, at least according to several sports commentators.

What about NHL center ice, would Fox Sports regional networks games on CI be cancelled as well?

No, but you will lose some HD due to you would get what the league provides only when they don't have the other feed available to them.

The NHL gives out feeds that Directv can use but FSN maybe force home BO maybe even for games that will not be on TV anyways.

Maybe with the lost FSN HD D* can add CBC HD, TSN (All HD feeds), Rogers (All HD feeds) and WGN 9 HD to CI.

I can't imagine them dropping 20 channels, 13 of them RSN's. If people can't get their local sports, well, they're going to be p*****.

Just and FYI... According to sports business journal the Directv contracts with Foc local stations end on Dec 31 and with Fox News in Jan... So this is just the beginning with News Corp... Although if they were offering extension at same rate while negations continued I am quite mad at Directv for their stance

I bet the full time HD feeds of those we don't receive are probably part of what is going on. Secondly, anything Directv didn't come out directly and say wasn't part of the problem that FOX owns is probably part of it. The fact some advertising is starting to air on Fox Soccer plus leads me to believe they may want it in Sports pack eventually.

Outside of not getting what shaving has to do with the issue at hand, Stuart is exactly right.

The only truly effective negotiating stance I ever found was, "No."

After that, it's a game of chicken. Let's see who pulls hard on the wheel first.
