Wild is the type of channel that just begs for HD status. Can't imagine choosing to watch a nature program not in HD these days. Hopefully they will get it done soon.

So glad Fox Reality is going. Didn't watch it at all, but reality TV shows are idiotic, in my own opinion.

I'm a bit surprised the Reality Channel didn't manage to attract more viewers. Reality shows are fairly popular and they were doing lots of bonus shows related to Fox shows like American Idol. Maybe no one is interested in old reruns of this stuff, but it had to be cheap programming.

Five years is a pretty good run for a fringe channel. Yes reality is popular but people want to watch reality on the main broadcast networks, MTV, Bravo, VH1, and E! (Lifetime now with Project Runway, which is Reality - Competition) for the most part. They aren't going to tune into a channel they have to find, i.e. Fox Reality Channel, which on many systems was probably buried in the lineup. Hell they don't even tune into reality shows on the CW. My wife likes reality but only watched FRC to see old eps of The Amazing Race. Not to mention FOX never promoted FRC. For example, the AI post-show shows on FRC. They never had Ryan Seacrest ever tell a viewer to tune into Fox Reality to watch the post-show show or other AI content on FRC. That probably would have helped a ton, not to mention running FRC promos on FOX primetime.

FRC didn't just have reality, it also showed those over the top hidden camera shows like America's wildest police chases and "Busted & Disgusted" (one of those Caught on Tape shows), the latter I recently recorded a few episodes for mindless entertainment. I don't know if you consider those reality, I guess they are but still different than the FRC original "My Bare Lady" for instance.

That's the best they could come up with? ANOTHER animal adventure channel? If it isn't animals, shopping, or cop shows it doesn't seem to be on anymore.

Aren't there any "cable" channels showing DECENT old non-sitcom TV shows (and don't say TV Land a/k/a "The Andy Griffith Channel")?

We have a GREAT LIL channel in Milwaukee known as "Me-TV" which shows Hawaii Five-O, The Untouchables, Perry Mason, Matlock, 77 Sunset Strip, and all kinds of great old non-sitcom TV shows. Can't one of these big greedy cable programmers come up with something similar?? (for our $4 a year package cost increase)

Yes "another" all animal channel, for a total of 2. The supposed "educational" channels (Discovery, TLC, etc) have switched to all mindless reality shows now, and Animal Planet has started to slowly. I'm looking forward to NGW, I just wish they'd add it in HD.

The scrolling message says July 1 but this thread says June 30. Which is it? I thought D* always adds/removes/changes channels on Wednesdays; July 1 is a Thursday.
