I suspect that's a far more realistic view than some of the others already posted.
It'll start strong just from curiosity. I mean, my god they added a human train wreck and a clueless MILF, that has to draw some morbid interest. Then the numbers will crash.
I'll maintain that it's more about the talent choice than the Judges .. Always has been. The last two years have been lesser because of the choices and heck .. America chose them (from a pool of people).
Maybe the real talent no longer sees American Idol as a vehicle, so we may keep going down because of that.
I guarantee it will be the #1 show again.
Supposedly....having read some of the audition reports in 2 cities...this crop may result in some very strong prospects. Once moderate-size new audition city (not used previously) alone resulted in 37 "passed the first round" people...
The new nights might also be interesting....
Fringe producers spin move to Friday as a good thing.
I hope they are right.
Yeah, " a move to Friday is a good thing." What universe are they living in?
Imo, Idol will succeed or fail according to how much talent they manage to find. Last year was bad because the talent was meager. The year before last was great because the talent was considerable. All the rest (judging, production, placement, etc) will only marginally affect the future success or failure of A.I.
