If this is true I'll be turning off the Sports Pack and saving $13 a month. I can go for that.

And yes it listed on the guide as being in Choice Xtra....hot damn.

Excellent news. I plan on cancelling unless Fox Soccer Plus is moved to the sports tier. That would seem to make logical sense to try and keep soccer fans paying for it and other providers do something similar.

I ran across this by accident today...great news!!! It makes sense as Fox Soccer is losing the EPL to NBC next year. This will increase their exposure for when they re-brand their sports channels and offer new programming.

    Somewhere...
Looks like that may be the case because the following message is on that page on the Directv site. This sports package is currently out of season.
I bet they move it to sports pack. I doubt they could do less than that because of the cost of the station. I'm willing to bet the price change takes affect sometime in less than 30 days due that message. Especially since it was a channel they charged 10 for, if you cancel less than 30 days after adding it.

D* really needs to open up FSC+. How is it that Oceanic TW can have it in its $5.99 sports pack (which includes the PAC-12 Net) while D* still insists on charging an additional $13.95 for the same channel?

Anyone know if FSC will also be in "Choice Xtra Classic" or do I have to lose the grandfathered package in order to pick this up?

    Sigh.....

I just added the Sports Pack in late November primarily for Fox Soccer. To do so, I had to lose my Choice Extra Classic package. (only thing I lost that I care about was Boomerang).

I will be calling to cancel the Sports pack for sure. Glad to have FSC in a regular mainstream package.

The DirecTV program guide indicates that BeIN is only available with the Sports Pack or Premier...but I have Choice Xtra and I still have it (as of tonight).

I may not have it much longer...personally, I do not watch BeIN because the leagues they cover do not interest me and because I cannot stand to listen to Ray Hudson.

Really? Hmmm...interesting. My disappointment with beIN comes from the fact that their US version of it does not include rugby broadcasts. That's what I want!

Since they are a new network in the States, I was of the impression that BeIN "paid" their way into a lower tier program package in order to get more exposure. Which tier I don't know.

I will be interested to see if I keep it in my package based on what is on the D* program package listing...they do cover the USA away World Cup qualifying matches, which does interest me.

The timing of this seems strange to me, next season what will FSC even have to show after they lose the EPL? Aren't these the league rights for next season?

    English: NBCSN
    French/Italian/Spanish: BeIn
    German: GolTV ?

I guess I can hope they get rights to the Bundesliga. It seems strange that FSC gets moved to the general package, a move they would theoretically have been wanting for years to get more subscriber money, right when they are at their lowest value.
