Any comments on the FSC HD picture quality? I feel it's a bit below par. Soccer broadcasts on ESPN and other RSNs look a bit better. I'm happy to have FSC HD but the PQ is a bit lacking. Maybe I need to adjust my set?

So far I haven't seen any actual HD soccer broadcasts on FSC HD since it went live except one repeat of the Community Shield from last weekend. The PQ of that game was very good, same resolution as the ESPNs. The game (repeat) that's on right now wasn't shot in HD which is also why the FSC logo is missing the HD part.

"If you want HD, you're gonna have to watch whatever matches are shown live in HD"

Or record them and watch at your convenience as usual. :)

On PQ? What I've watched that was acquired in HD - looks great. On both FSC and FSC+.

It is a wrench trying to be satisfied with SD when we're getting more and more HD. Though I hear from others that rides on provisions made by that thoughtful group of broadcasters called SkyTV.

I know, but as I mentioned above, not until they fix the HD PPV bug (maybe it's working as intended, heh) which wants you to pay when trying to watch a FS Plus HD recording later on. :)

To me, the PQ for FSC HD is decent, on par with ESPN. But definitely not as good as GOL TV HD. GOL TV HD has great PQ!

All FOX and ESPN HD channels broadcast in 720p. GolTV went with 1080i.

especially considering that you only get (from a soccer perspective, per week) 2 EPL games, a couple siere A games and and the english second league.

are those worth buying . . . sure, i guess. but $15 a month? not even close.

no way this channel will survive (at this price) with its current programming

"not until they fix the HD PPV bug"

I experienced this a few times with the SD-only sub available previous years. It hasn't happened to me [yet] in the new incarnation.

I wouldn't be surprised to see something like that in the future. We've seen various packages being adjusted and new ones created all the time...

It's hard to see how this plays out much differently than Setanta. Certainly Fox enjoys much lower production and programming costs, but I don't see how the FS+ offering, even with HD, differs enough from Setanta to entice any more viewers. I dropped my Setanta sub over a year ago when I was looking to cut bills, and really haven't missed it (or FS+).

Of course, that could be because Liverpool were so crap last year.

Does anyone know if FS+'s Championship games will be in HD? The guide just has to be announced in the Sunday morning timeslot.

FS+ is not broadcasting the Championship in HD, nor rugby. It looks like Serie A won't be in HD, either. Ligue Un is in HD.

Anyone else getting 721 on 621-1 for the EPL match?

Still on the phone with support. They tried to tell me it's not a known issue, and they aren't getting calls on it, but I know 4 other people on the phone with them as I speak.

According to Fox, they're aware of the issue and they're checking into it.

They just came back and told me the game is not being broadcast in HD, and that's why it's not on 621-1.
