Why is our alt channel not available in HD? Some of the smaller sports markets have HD alts. Ex. Oklahoma City. Cmon FSN

    Choctaw, OK
NBA basketball sure looks good in HD on FSNOKa. ;)

Don't worry, you're not being cheated.
    The OK FSNs are part-time.
Unless there is a game or special event on then we get the FSSW feed.

Michigan is one of the states where satellite TV service is actually not taxed...

Absolutely. Frankly, I'm stunned that there isn't even any talk of a satellite TV tax.

Given the level of intelligence in office holders I would not be surprised that they have never even heard of satellite TV lets keep it that way.

There used to be an HD alt for FSN Detroit, however, it was never used.

All the FSN Plus games are SD unfortunately.

I was upset that FSN Detroit got the Pistons 100% in the new contract. It meant more conflicts and less HD as the OTA in Detroit was 100% HD last season.

Overall HD is up for FSN Detroit combined, which is a good thing. However, I think the 3 FSN teams (Tigers, Pistons, & Red Wings) would be smart to partner up with an OTA broadcasting group for some games. Two or three weekend games per month on an OTA channel would prolly give them nice bump.

I agree with you, but I still don't see the logic in this. Chicago is set up properly. Detroit is already advertising for the BIG April in the D campaign, wouldn't it be smart to have as much HD available as possible!

Wouldn't shock me if none of the cable providers had space for another Game Time only HD channel. DirecTV might be the only provider with the bandwidth for a potential alternate HD feed. Plus FSN Detroit has to get it done in HD from the FSN master control center in Houston. I would guess that until all FSN produced games are in HD on the main RSN, we won't see the alt feeds in HD.

Comcast SportsNets have a much smaller infrastructure that FSN so it might be easier for them...
