I'd like to introduce a thread for all of the technicians. We see a lot of interesting and sometimes pretty funny stuff while out on the road every day. Here are a couple of van photo's I took last summer. Share your own photo's and stories!

That's haunting. It'd be kind of scary in b/w and high contrast.

    Edit: Like so..

My trip to our LiL uplink center today. Doing a little troubleshooting on monitoring gear. The gator is a little dorky  but it's cold out there!

    Los...
    Very interesting; :)

Be nice if you could give us techno-geeks a brief technical description of what each photo is specifically displaying. Sort of like was done here for the New Orleans LRF for DirecTV and dish.

Do you think they'll call for a Mover's Connection, or a service call at the new address?

Yes sir! The satelites are 22,500 miles away but that 14 feet I gain by going all the way up there makes a difference

I get so tired of seeing that crap. One of these days, I might just snap and someone will find a dish in a place where it will never, ever, get reception. :D

I had to purchase a 40' telescoping painters pole the other day to clear the ice/snow mixture from a "center peak" 2nd story KaKu.
I told my sup that every time I have to use that pole, (Because I can't scale the roof anymore) I'm going to use it to smack the tech who put the stupid ODU there in the first place. [IMG]

In the some areas, that dish will be unservicable, for either upgrades or repairs, for 4 to 6 months out of the year. It's a piss poor choice for the dish. A much better location would have been the edge of the roof at the back of the garage or the wall of the garage itself.

Now I got it - it's hard to imagine blocking snow here, in Bay Area. :)

Yeah that's pretty silly. No reason not to put it on the back of the house on the edge of the roof. Signal will come in right over that low slope and it will look better from the street too.
