Per the D* website this channel is finally moving out of the 600 range.

    http://news.directv.com/2013/11/01/its-always-sunny-and-the-league-have-a-new-home-on-fxx/

"Starting Wednesday, November 13, FXX will move from channel 619 to 259. Geared towards a younger demographic, FXX will be the new home for some of FX’s most acclaimed comedies, such as It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia and The League, as well as all-time favorites like Arrested Development, Parks and Recreation, How I Met Your Mother, Freaks and Geeks, and more.
You can catch a trifecta of season premieres, beginning with It’s Always Sunny at 10pm, The League at 10:30pm, and Totally Biased with W. Kamau Bell at 11pm. Good news for fans of Totally Biased: You can now see it five nights a week!
In 2014 FXX will premiere a new, original show called Legit. Starring comedian Jim Jeffries, Legit revolves around Jeffries’s adventures with his roommates, a well-endowed quadriplegic named Billy and Jeffries’ romantically clueless brother, Dan, as they search to find a more legitimate way of life. A new animated comedy, Chozen, will also launch on FXX in 2014.
Start tuning into FXX on Wednesday, November 13, on channel 259. And don’t miss the season premieres of It’s Always Sunny (10 p.m.), The League (10:30 p.m.), and Totally Biased (11 p.m.) only on FXX.
FXX is available with the XTRA package and above. "

Does it really matter what number any of the channels are on, as long as they are somewhere?

Yes. I can't speak for others but I still occasionally scan the channels for something to watch. Rarely do I scan in the 600 range looking for non-sports programming.

If nice to know that DirecTV is so up to date on their programming. :bang

2014 will be this "new original show's" second season. And "Dan" is "Billy's" brother. Not Jim's.

Yeah. For some reason it does. I don't care personally, but some people on here seemed like they were on the verge of a stroke after finding out what the channel placement was.

    Yes.

My area cable-television providers Comcast and WOW are a mess with their channels mapping with their high definition. Comcast, to its credit, is rolling out a four-digit numbering system for HD; yet, it has not been implementing the three-digit standard defs to get adjusted with a parallel. (For example: TBS HD is on ch. 1220. But the SD has not yet been moved to ch. 220.) The four-digit HDs do have some organization with their categorizations based on content. (For example: the premium-movie programmers' HD are in the 1900s. The SD versions should get moved to the 900s.)

There is a difference, here, between fussiness and reasonable. I think people who wanted FXX, re-branded from Fox Soccer Channel, moved out of the channels range 600s and into the 200s were motivated by the latter.

Now FS2 needs to be with FS1 and we're doing better.

DirecTV has been goofy with how it handles sports. But that's the choice of those in power at DirecTV.

Fox Sports 2 will probably end up making the move, even if more moves have to occur, so the two companions are located together … wherever.

This makes entirely too much sense to ever be implemented.

Not 100% it isn't. Channel numbers are part of contract negotiations.

Will series links to FXX's current channel number automatically transfer to the new number or do we need to recreate them?
