thats your opinion:nono2:
thats because directv lags behind dish when it comes to HD :hurah:
And that's your opinion. :hurah:
That G4 is low rated? No, that's not a matter of opinion. It is Dish that lags behind DirecTV.
Yup, Directv can drop any SD they want and I could care less. I only watch HD channels and don't bother with anything in SD. My default view on the guide is HD only.
Dish ----> G4 HD
Directv ----> G4 SD
Yes, but how many people are actually watching it? It's low rated in both SD and HD. I understand that people want it and that's fine, but it is not a powerhouse. It barely registers compared to most channels. That's not an insult to those who like it, that's just the reality.
That is sooooo wrong. First off, Techtv WAS a Mainstream channel. It was G4 that had the niche programming that NOBODY watched. They had to buy a mainstream channel in order to get carried. That is a FACT. I applaud Directv for this move. If G4 wants to be carried, Directv should charge them for it!
tipical fanboy talk:nono2:

Lawl, am I the only one here who really doesn't care about HD at all? I bought my 36" FD Trinitron 6 years ago, and the image quality is MORE than good enough for me. I've seen HD programming on HD displays in professional installations, and personally I don't think it's really all amazing or breathtaking, especially for the price. I plan to keep my trusty CRT for many years to come. (Even thought ahead and have a spare flyback for it; I'm in this for the long haul... :smoking
You may not be the only one, but you are in the minority.
What the heck is lawl?
No more G4? How am I supposed to watch reruns of COPS in crystal clear standard definition?????
That is what worries me the most. What will they drop next, E!?
Hoosier, do you think more people would watch if it was in HD?
I'm kind of mixed on them dropping it. There are a few shows on there I watched occasionally, I was hoping to see it in HD one day. My thing is I don't want them burning bridges with C* especially if this NBCU merger happens.
I don't know. :shrug:
I bookmark the site. Thank you
I am guessing lawl=lol?
I had a very nice Sony CRT up until January 2007. I thought the PQ was pretty good. But when I got my HD set I realized how inferior the CRT really was.
Goodbye!! Now, give the channel to Leo Laporte's twit.tv network and let everyone watch real tech tv.
Yes, but how many more is the question. Enough for it to make a difference? I don't know.
Does anyone remember the ZDTV days, during commercial breaks they would air short "rants" from a weird curly haired guy with a lisp in his messy living room. I remember one about on-line banking. "How do you send change through the phone line?"
Am I crazy or did this guy actually exist? If so, is he someone of note?
Actually, I remember back about a year or two ago Leo Laporte was planning on signing a deal with D* and having his Live Streamed shows on The 101 Network but the deal ended up falling through unfortunately
