I was born in Gainesville on September 22, 19(mumble), so adding Gainesville locals on September 22nd would be a nice commemoration of that important historical event.
They've had months if not years to get ready for Sept. So, it is not unreasonable to expect Sept. 1. as the date locals would be offered. At least, let the customers know in advance when they plan to do it. If they're not going to have locals available on the 1st of Sept, it would be a good time to tell customers the time of month they will be available. I don't live in the Gainesville area but in an area that is also supposed to receive locals in Sept.

When an entire month is given as a time frame, yes it is unreasonable to expect day 1 as the date. Customers were told in advance. The announcement said September 2010, it is still September 2010. There are still 25 days to go in September 2010. As someone else pointed out they generally only launch new channels on a Wed so that should narrow things down for you, maybe.

My point exactly! I have been a Direct TV customer since 1997. During this period, I have subscribed to the NFL sports package every year since it's been offered, and also to the premium channels. Moreover, I've always paid my bills on time. Therefore, it is not unreasonable to expect Direct TV to meet its deadlines that it promised its customers. Dish has had locals available in my area for over 2 months. So if Direct TV does not make local channels available this month, I'm definitely taking my business to Dish.
You guys can take this one to the bank too. If Satelliteracer says the 15th, then the 15th it is.
