The DirecTV site says that the Gainesville Florida locals will be available on Sept 2010.

Anyone know what day this will happen or if it will even happen at all?

For that matter, are any/all of the LILs planned for Sept 2010 still on schedule to be launched next month?

The previously announced HD local markets have all launched on time, so I see no reason to think this won't continue to be the case.

Have they launched day one or later in the month?

I don't know about you but I was always told that on time meant that something happened or someone showed up when expected and no later.

If the site says September then expect September.

    Broken...
New local channel market launches are almost always on a Wednesday, so it will either be the 1st, the 8th, the 15th, the 22nd or the 29th.

    Sherman...
I was born in Gainesville on September 22, 19(mumble), so adding Gainesville locals on September 22nd would be a nice commemoration of that important historical event.

Again... If they said September 2010 it will be September 2010 but did you honestly think it would be day 1??

They've had months if not years to get ready for Sept. So, it is not unreasonable to expect Sept. 1. as the date locals would be offered. At least, let the customers know in advance when they plan to do it. If they're not going to have locals available on the 1st of Sept, it would be a good time to tell customers the time of month they will be available. I don't live in the Gainesville area but in an area that is also supposed to receive locals in Sept.

When an entire month is given as a time frame, yes it is unreasonable to expect day 1 as the date. Customers were told in advance. The announcement said September 2010, it is still September 2010. There are still 25 days to go in September 2010. As someone else pointed out they generally only launch new channels on a Wed so that should narrow things down for you, maybe.

It was originally August 2010 and now it's Sept 2010 for Gainesville, FL locals.

    What's next, October 2010 ?

My point exactly! I have been a Direct TV customer since 1997. During this period, I have subscribed to the NFL sports package every year since it's been offered, and also to the premium channels. Moreover, I've always paid my bills on time. Therefore, it is not unreasonable to expect Direct TV to meet its deadlines that it promised its customers. Dish has had locals available in my area for over 2 months. So if Direct TV does not make local channels available this month, I'm definitely taking my business to Dish.

Dish has had the Gainesville FL Locals for years.

Have no idea how DiercTV can have so much trouble providing these same local channels.

I'll just have to keep hanging.
