For the 2nd time in less than 1 week GH did not record. So I looked in the history and it said canceled. It said "This episode was canceled because it did not match your show type settings in the guide'". I've ben recording GH for 10 years and all of a sudden it does ot match show type settings in the guide? What's up with this?

Yesterday's episode was a rerun and must have been flagged as such.

Same problem and message for One Life to Live yesterday. Checked ABC's site and it's not showing up today. May have been a repeat or not on at all. One is scheduled for today so will see if it records correctly.

SInce apparently Wed's episode was a repeat, check to see if your SL is for 1st run only, if it is, the dvr did exactly as it was supposed to. If your wife wants an episode to record every day it is on, you'll want to change the SL settings to both.

That explains it. Thursdays rerun on Soapnet was also a repeat so it makes sense. I know I can always get the answer to my questions when I post to this forum. Thanks all.

I don't think that's the problem. We got the same message.

It would seem to be a Guide Data Glitch. However, we lost only one episode (yesterday).

Sometimes it is better to create a Manual Recording so you get everything you want and then you can Delete those Repeats that you don't want to watch.

Why? My wifes GH SL has been recording daily for seven years and I could count on one hand the number of missed episodes and I'll bet they were all guide glitches.

AAMOF, I can't think of an SL that has ever failed. I don't have to worry about keeping track of the repeats.

You didn't really lose anything as Wednesday's episode was from 12/1/2005. :)

That would explain why it didn't record. Although, it doesn't explain the info in the History entry.

I suppose the guide data still had info concerning the 5 year old show that confused the SL. I do record GH, but the SL is set to all.

Actually the history entry makes perfect sense, it found an episode, but it canceled the recording due to it not being first run, but a rerun. I believe this is what shows up for any re-runs if your SL is set to 1st run only.

No. It was more Sam and Jason centric.
It was fun to see Courtney and Georgie again.
