If you want ota hr20s are good to keep.
If he replaces them with hr24s you may have to pay for two AM21s.

Bummer no HR44, my tech gave the same line I have read here "the HR34 was rushed to market to compete with the Dish Hopper". But maybe D* has improved it by now. A bonus it is a large unit you can put the AM21 on top or bottom as they have similar dimentions except for thickness.

    Winters,...
A lot of software improvements have gone into the '34. It's a good unit for me.

That is great to hear! You know how it is, the happy users seldom post only the users with problems do. From my 16 years as a happy D* customer they are continually improving the software and hardware. That is not to say there have not been a few hiccups along the way but in the end they have provided a great product.

Everything swapped out including the reflector/lnbs, 2 HR20 with HR24s. HR21 and H24 with HR34 and Client and WHD. Running great with about 75 percent less wires. Lost ota with the HR24s but AM21 with the Genie is enough for emergencies. All totally free upgrade which made tipping the tech alot easier. Now onto the HR34 issues and software thread. Thanks for everyone's help and advice.
