So a week ago Friday AM before work I set up a recording of Gravity in 3D to play when I got home on my HT.
I raced home, hit play and was presented with the following message (paraphrasing a bit)
"Your 3D TV does not support 1080i resolution (797)"

Now I have watched 3DNet, 3D blu-rays, my home system is fully compatible right down to my HDMI cables.

So I called tech support, they were stymied and gave me a credit for the movie. They said to try again the next day to see what happens.
I tried again the next day, same outcome, called D* same reaction, but they gave me an additional account credit (nice service touch!), and passed me along to a higher level tech support. SI spoke with a very intelligent guy who took more specific information and placed a call for me into engineering whom he said would call me in 48 hours.

They never did call me. I tried tuning to the channel this past weekend and got the same pop message.

I told D* that the message itself was very odd as it recognized my 3D TV , "Your 3D TV...", but thought it could not support 1080i, "does not support 1080i"!
I know of no 3D TVs that are 3D, and NOT 1080i at a minimum!

    Anyone else heard of this?

Have you tried rebooting? I've seen threads in the past where a reboot resolved the 3D issue.

The support for 3D is on the HDMI protocol. That is how an HR20 HDDVR knows that is connected to a 3D but is unable to play the content

I had done all the usual diagnostic routines before calling D*, and again with them including reboot.

@ Peds, DVR, and TV all set to support 3D, HDMi are current spec for 3D in use
    again, note 3Dnet plays fine

Something I've learned is to turn everything off before turning on the AVR, then TV and finally the HR34.

I get the same thing on my LG 3D. Format 1080p 60 fps. Directv NEEDS to fix this!

Yes, 107 works so does Sony 3D Blu-ray the only thing that does work is channel 104? The 2D - 3D works great!

So two calls to tech support on this issue now
two promises of an engineering call back in 48 hours
    - Never received calls
two promises to have my HR34 replaced by tech support (somehow) with a HR44 in 2 - 5 business days
    - Never received HR44

Now I find myself on the phone as I write this having to start all over again with CS, and tech support.

However they see notations on my account verifying what I am writing here.
This is both frustrating and disappointing. Not what I have come to expect all these from D*

I would try with just the tv with hdmi to the HR34 first, with the tv turned off, then turn on HR34, then the tv, If that doesn't work then reboot receiver, then start the process over again as I mentioned, Maybe it's a handshake issue or make sure that 1080p is checked in your resolution settings.
