Considering subscribing to Dish. If I subscribe to sat provided locals, do dish network HD receivers provide complete guide data for local OTA digital subchannels or do they just say "local programming" or some other lame info?

In most cases (locals offered via satellite and you subscribe to them) the guide information for subchannels of the channels DISH carries IS also provided.

And there are rare exceptions which a channel that Dish does not carry will have guide listings and a channel that isn't carried will have the guide.

there is some info in terms of guide data in the OTA sections DMA based in the Dish OTA forum. http://www.dbstalk.com/forumdisplay.php?f=123

You need to set your display option to the beginning since those were the first posts. It should give you some idea of what to expect and possible you will get lucky and your DMA will be there.
