I searched and couldn't find anything on this, so here it is. I was speaking with the Access Card Dept today, checking RID numbers (looking for and owned receiver) and was informed the H21 is now EOL. He said HR21's are still being recovered. So be careful buying receivers and always check the RID. EOL receivers can not be transferred to a new account unless they are "owned". Anyone else, please chime in with any more information.

    So that leaves the H23-H25.

That makes sense considering how old they are.

This must have just happened this week because i deactivated a H21 on Saturday and was a little surprised that they are sending me a recovery kit to send it back.

Do you think the HR21 will be following soon?

Always good advice no matter what receiver/DVR you are thinking of buying.

As far as buying from a private party, this is the case whether or not the unit is EOL. Only an owned receiver from an account in good standing can be purchased and activated on another account.

If they are really EOL, I don't understand why they're bothering to (still) recover them...they usually stop doing this on EOL receivers, such as the HR20's.

Do tell us when you get it, I've been waiting for over 3 months for a recovery kit. I really hope to open a bill and see that I've been charged for it.

I'm a bit surprised at this because the H21 has always struck me as a good box. When running whole home with an HR22, the H21 has been snappy and responsive, compared to the piggy HR22. Does the H23 do something that the H21 doesn't?
