    Before the beginning of last season, the Washington Nationals decided to honor the retired numbers of the Montreal Expos. So, even though it's in D.C., his #8 is back to being forever his.

    RIP, Gary. I was a kid when the Mets won and it made my whole year. That and the Giants winning the Super Bowl same year, too. Heck of a year, '86.

    Even though I was a long-suffering Red Sox fan, I was glad that Gary got his ring in '86. I wasn't happy about some of the OTHER players, but I always liked Carter!
