This is where I initially didn't "get" what you were trying to say .. experience always pays dividends and yeah, right now there are a few glitches. I have faith that those will get corrected.

From a TiVo perspective, I had good success with a reverse engineered add-on card and never used the USB dongle (Did it even work for Series 1 devices?) I've actually had better success with the HR2x with the on-board Ethernet, so my personal experience differs a bit from yours ..

Bottom line, I "get" what you are saying ...

Please see "Live TV" Button on attached photo for how it gets "easier" for DLB ... that's what the comment was directed towards.

Grizzly, please continue to call them as you see them.

The "contrary" point of view needs to be presented. I am eagerly looking forward to leapfrogging beyond the HR21 as well.

A constructive suggestion. Perhaps the moderators should refrain from directly engaging posters who are not members of the HR2x army. When a moderator challenges such a poster in a somewhat aggressive manner, it creates a chilling effect on discussion generally. There are plenty of other regular posters who will gladly claim that their HR21 is simply the best (and has always worked perfectly).

Always dangerous to argue with the referee. ;)

OK .. My bad .. I actually misread your comment you were JUST talking about DLB .. and for the record .. I used the down arrow rather than the "Live TV" button :)

I edited after rereading your post as well, not quite as snappy. First thought was WT% does he mean what's easier ....

I will continue to call it as I see it as well. We have a set of rules in the forum that we try to uphold .. have a contrary point of view is not a violation of any of our rules.

I personally try to be very clear when I'm acting as a moderator or as a participant. If I get too emotionally involved in a subject I will ask one of the other moderators to do the moderation .. I feel that I do a pretty good job of maintaining a satisfactory balance and I hope others feel that way also.

    Nicholsen,

I would take a response to one of my postings from Doug, Tom, etc. over the attacks and blather of the torch and pitchfork crew that patrols here anytime.

They're providing their opinion and sharing information. Participating in the forum is one of the things that a host LIKES to do...and is probably why and how they got to be a moderator in the first place.
