The clock is ticking toward the end of the year. We only have one month and a couple of days to go. What HD channels are possible by years end?

Which ones are you looking for?

There are a few (like Biography that will go active tomorrow).

Most of the major other channels are not expected until Q1 (like Disney and the rest of the HBO's)

Bingo, you hit the one that my family is anxious for, Disney. Earl, are we pretty well set with the line up we currently have for family oriented HD channels?

Well I don't know all the details of what is left for the year.
But just based on national announcements of available channels.

I am not sure where else they would come from.

Earl, I thought I had read awhile ago that the "MoreMax" cinemax channel was going HD as well. Any idea when this channel will launch?

    Thanks.

Isn't RFD supposed to go to HD? Is Noggin going to or am I just thinking about it going to a 24-hour little kids only show? I would love to see the Travel Channel (which I know isn't available until next spring).

It would be nice to have this ASAP since they're fixing to play a bunch of Christmas movies... I know they won't be in HD... but at least maybe they'll look better...

Disney probably knows, but they're not talking. When the announcement was made back in March, there was no time frame associated with ABC Family.

    Boomerang HD in December?

I'd like so much they add Anime Network as well in SD and why not in HD :D

Given the quality of most SD offerings on the Tennis Channel, I hold little hope that the move to HD will be anything other than symbolic. The Sampras Federer exhibitions from Korea/Maylasia/etc. looked as if they were taped using a cheap VHS-C camera circia 1995. I'm not sure what advantage blowing up that grainy, blurry, smeared mess to HD would be.

I hope when they start their HD service, they buy some cameras worthy of the format.

I work at the Dayton station that houses the Directv local channel eqipment. Last week the Chief Engineer told me that D* has sent him an inquiry about additional rental cost for them adding another rack of equipment for HD locals. So possibly first quarter 08?
