I'm interested in getting the dish network service, specifically for the Monsters HD channel. I do not have an HDTV. Does anyone know if I can still watch HD channels (albeit not in high definition) on my standard television?

You can indeed watch HD on SD displays. The ViP211 has both RCA and S-VHS outputs that pump out a letterboxed SD picture.

My crystal ball says that you'll acquire an HD display within two months of subscribing to to HD service.

The 622 offers basically the same. With both a HD and SD monitor connected to the 622, I have found the quality of the HD pictures on the SD monitor to be fantastic!
