See thread CNBC - HD 771? Same discussion and problem there
Still getting 771 here in Palmdale. I am having a tech come out Saturday and see what they can come up with. All the new channels as of 10-15 are up and running.
8pm 10-16, CNBC+ now coming in, also showing signal on transponder 22 which had been at zero. Will re-check in the morning.
It's FINALLY on here too in Pacific Palisades ,California in zip code 90272
tp#22 @ 0
A tech can't fix that problem ..it's coming from Directv's transponder..they fixed it yesterday from their place, they can fix it today. I'm not having any tech come to my place..since the problem isd'nt happening at my place ..it's from Directv themselves..they proved that yesterday by turning it on for us !!!!!!!
If it were DirecTV's problem, it would be affecting the whole country. And it's not. You're receiving the same beam that I am.
the tech supervisor TOLD ME it was a problem over at directv..not at my home .
He also said it is affecting some southern California residents.
There may be some interference in SoCal that is causing the problem, I never said that couldn't be the case. I also didn't say that it was a problem specific to your home, because it obviously isn't. But it's definitely not a problem with the satellite, because there is only one beam for the entire country. You are seeing the same exact signal that I am seeing in Michigan, and I am having zero trouble with it. So there is nothing wrong with the signal.
It's just not working now !!!!!!!!! It says 771 searching for signal.
I don't know why you think you're the only one who knows what's going on. Try concentrating on reading more before you fire off your next diatribe.
Perhaps, but the new crawl is roughly half the heigtht of the SD crawl. On both TVs that I watch CNBC on, I can see the SD tickers fine, but the HD+ crawls are too small from the same distance. It may "too far", but it used to be fine... Also, I'll bet I'm like a lot of CNBC viewers that are not exactly watching from the couch (meaning where normal TV viewing would take place, and the TV has been 'properly' sized for).
The text clarity is great, so they wouldn't need to double the HD text height (to match the SD height) to be readable from the same distance. The thing is, there's available space for a larger bottom ticker, as it's currently placed below the video, which *has* dead space on the lower edge where the SD ticker would have been...
It looks like CNBC is now using a HD camera in studio for "Squawk box"?
No CNBCHD here in Hawaii -- error 771. 0 signal on TP22 of 103(b).
This same problem was going on in Southern California from the time that CNBC-HD launched until D* fixed it last week. I am not sure what they did to fix it here but TP22 is stable and strong now. Keep calling D* and complain until they fix it. The CSR's will probably act like this is the first time they are hearing the problem, but eventually they will figure out that it is a larger issue. It will get fixed for you eventually as long as people keep complaining.
If TP22 is the only TP that you are having problems with on 103b, and if you are not having problems with any of the other sattellites/TP's, then this is not a problem on your end...
Don't talk to a regular CSR..talk to a TECH SUPERVISOR OR TEAM LEADER
