But I kinda wish they would go a bit old-school.

You Can't Do That on Television in HD would be fun... :)

hmm...i was hoping on full screen. u cant crop to stretch the pic to full screen like u can locals hd's that put the bars on the side?

upon further testing....if i put my screen settings on 4:3 mode u can crop nick and lose the black side bars and it looks good in full screen like that. so why cant u do that when ur set to 16:9?

Yeah I wish DirecTV had " Nick GAS" games and sports network. That channel has the old Legends of the Hidden Temple, and Double Dare 2000 all day.

My daughter and I love Yo Gabba Gabba. If you are a fan of 70s/80s style shows like "New Zoo Review" Banana Splits" and Magic Garden" you have to check it out.

Hope this comes in HD soon.

I love anytime Directv adds new channels, but are the HD channels added today, just more channels that broadcast SD over a HD channel.

Why put up a channel if its not airing true HD 16:9?
Just to get there channel counts up.

They have SPEED HD with no HD
    Fuel HD with not HD
now MTVHD, VH1HD, CMTHD, NICKHD, and SPIKEHD.

They should offer a HD EXTRA PACK with not true HD.

    Come on Directv.

No, the content providers are adding "HD" channels quickly (some obviously before they are "ready") so that they can claim their "territory" with DirecTV (and other content providers). This is important in a bandwidth-limited world.

More true HD content will be forthcoming...it is a chicken and egg problem -- and the eggs have been laid.

I can't remember where, but I did read that GAS is retiring after years of being broadcast within the next few months...:(

I would rather watch an upconverted SD channel than regular 480i channels any day of the week.

It may not be 'true HD', but upconverted video is still clearer and better.

same here, but im not sure its even in 16:9, cause the DVD's are all 4:3. But that doesnt mean HD 4:3 wont look good.
