Well, I'm still waiting for the Richmond, VA locals to be offered in HD. While my OTA signal strength is good, I am waiting for the time where I am watching a recorded program and it just cuts out due to interference.

And the wait continues for many of us in that DMA :(

First it was Late 2006, now late 2007. I use to countdown the months but now it's the years. We can be assured that Lin is causing the holdout of at least 2 stations:(

I know this thread is for the local HD channels, but we still don't even have the SD channels in Montgomery, AL. Can't figure that one out. E* has had them up for a few years. I'm hoping that the new capacity from the new sats changes that.

Oh, it will. There has already been reports that some areas will be getting their SD locals from D* in the next few months. For an added bonus, as there are no Ka capable SD receivers, from what I've heard customers that opt to get their locals from D* will get a Ka/Ku dish and a free H20!

And if Newshawk didn't make you feel better already, I've been told that Montgomery, AL is one of the upcoming DMAs! ;)

I wish there were a master list, even just a broad reference and tenative plan and list in the order in which they plan to work on each dma. I know dates are hard to eslablish, but if we knew which order they were working on them and when each was being worked on, then you would have an idea when your dma was coming with hd locals roughly speaking or atleast know if your close or not.

I am waiting for Shreveport, LA DMA# 81 Even know we are in TX, our locals come from there.

To clarify, what I've heard is that D* will be utilizing Ka transponders for SD locals, much as they are doing in Alaska and Hawaii now. The free H20 (which I understand is only one to an account!) will only pertain to those markets where SD LiLs come from a Ka sat.

What does it mean in the HD column when it says announced? Does that mean DTV has announced a date that HD will be available for that market. Little Rock is announced but I haven't heard a thing.

I just moved from E to D. I live in McMinnville Or and can not get CBSHD VIA OTA. Dish carries this channel in HD. I wonder what is holding up the agreement with D?

I certainly hope that your source is correct! We've been living in the stone-age down here with no locals. Seriously though, it's just aggravating having to pay the cable company for lifeline cable. That's been the only "negative" for D* for me for the 5 years that I've been a customer. I get the local HDs OTA via antenna, but the signal from the local stations is not exactly reliable. With all the new HD channels AND our locals (even SD), I will be one happy customer!!! :D

I hope he is too... as he informed me that our (Albany, GA) SD-LILs will be coming online soon as well.

I've also heard that at least one upcoming DMA will get their HD-LIL at the same time. Sadly, I have not heard the same thing regarding our DMA yet...

By saying "one upcoming DMA", are you referring to the pending SD-LILs that are scheduled to be added soon (Montgomery, Albany, etc)? Because I will be VERY happy if we are lucky enough to get both SD and HD LILs at the same time!! We've been the largest DMA without any locals on D* for quite some time, so that would be a very nice surprise.

Yes, I am referring to an upcoming SD-LIL launch which is neither Montgomery or Albany. It would be nice if they did this for more SD-LIL launches... but I've only heard this for one DMA... and that's only what I've been told... which could obviously change.

    I guess we'll see...

Well rats! Oh well, I guess if I'll just have to settle for the SD LILs instead. That will be much better than what we have now!

I'm assuming you mean those "some markets" are the CW in HD? If so, what are they? Is it possible to get a waiver to view that market if you live in a different city? I remember a while back (I think this is how it worked) you could do that for the NY/LA locals that were in HD if D* didn't have your locals or a certain channel in yet.

Anyone have any idea if D* will ever start broadcasting the CWHD?
