    Broken...
I was working off preliminary information when I entered those channels. I'll get them corrected as soon as possible. Mahalo.

I do have one question about the CW channel. How do you tune it in since it shares the channel assignment with the FOX Ch. 2?

Not only is the land purchased the site is built on Old Vail Road. If there ever was a market where Direct could really take customers away from Dish and cable it is Tucson. What marketing is thinking of I'll never understand.

All companies now enlist customers in their battles...it's cheap and effective.

    2. Why can't I get a straight answer other than the "canned" BS they float on each request for information?

I hear a lot here about "why can't we get the same answer, why do all the CSRs give us different answers?"

You must be the opposite. You don't want a canned answer.

I'm sure the truth behind the matter is that your market isn't likely to be as profitable to D* as other markets, either for technical reasons, market reasons (station negotiations) or demographics.

    It's a business.

I would like to know as well. My OTA reception with the HR20-700 is not reliable so I am anxious to get our HD LiL's also.

Geez, another opinion...yeah demographics, that's it...our population is too low due to all the deployed service men and women from the worlds largest naval base being deployed for this *&%&&^$ war.

The truth of the matter is the Norfolk/Va Beach area has two network stations owned or operated by LIN, which appears to want more money for HD carriage than most of the other station groups. DirecTV probably has problems with the two-channel HD local package they sell into Providence for the same reason, so DirecTV most likely doesn't want to launch the Norfolk area until the LIN stations come aboard.

Let's be real for a second. If DirecTV started HD service for Norfolk, would you be happy with only ABC and CBS?

Direct carries most of Knoxville local stations in SD. I contacted Direct about a waiver, but was told NO because "HD is coming to Knoxville with the D11 launch". Customers in Knoxville have been told for more than a year that HD locals are coming (for what that is worth).

Actually, I would not have a problem with that since I can get all the local stations OTA anyway. It would allow me to record ABC and CBS programming without taking up as much hard drive space.

I am encouraged that they are rolling out more HD LiL. Does anyone know how many more markets can be added onto the birds already up there and what the timeline and/or DMA deployment order might be?

What antenna do you use? I use a $50 antenna from Radio Shack and I get above 80% on all channels...I also live 30 miles from the towers in Lexington...

Only reason I want locals is because my wife wants the antenna away, and my cats like to stand around it and mess up the signal, lol

I can't imagine it would be before D11 gets up and running, being #83 or whatever in the DMA slot.

I'm in a position where I get good OTA signals from all sources (all of the towers are within 15-20 degrees of azimuth from where I am in Lexington) so I'm not in a major hurry.

Weren't 3 of the 4 rolled out yesterday partial? If they are having problems getting LIN onboard give me a concise response when I inquire instead of the "canned" BS so I can pursue LIN.

Maybe there's a rabid Republican in charge of HD LIL at DTV and he wanted to give Bush something to watch when he comes here to the ranch. [It's about 15 miles from me]

I'd take anything at this point also. If DTV offered ABC and CBS then it would look like it was a LIN contract issue for Wavy and Fox. Seen as how DTV doesn't give answers to anything I could conclude that it was a LIN issue. Also I get NBC and Fox great with OTA, it's the other channels that I have issues with, so this would be fine until LIN comes on board.

    I second that!

I do think that LIN is a big part of the reason that we don't have local HD.
