Already done...not that it does any good.
As I recall, I lost my cable service on average 4-6 times a year, and that was total loss of service.
Considering I have had D* since the late 90's and this is the first major, lengthy service outage I have had in all these years...I can be patient. Especially because I can still get the SDs (and I have my HD antenna too).
D* has been very stable much, much more so then cable.
It will come back, I have no doubt they are working diligently on it.
I am very curious as to why this is happening.
I am also a bit surprised/curious at the lack of posts, or updates from those in the know on this site.
Ral/Durham HD locals all out except CW22 WLFL
I would spread the word via forums and twitter to have folks call/email/tweet requesting that the national HD feeds be opened to those affected. That would seem a reasonable request!
I have an large 8-Bay bowtie so no trouble getting the locals OTA, but it is an inconvenience.
I wonder how many people without the service are those same people who are still getting rogered with an HD access fee while it is given away for free to new customers, and those willing to let them have direct access to your credit card.
are they going to give us the other nbc hd channel (HD DNS) while this is going on??
I think we should be able to watch the stanley cup finals in HD.
Agreed! And nothing on DirecTV's website either!
I wouldn't count on it...when I called 6 hours into it last night they acted as if they knew nothing about it until he "looked it up" and said that it looked like there was an outage for several east coast cities and that they were looking into it.
The HD channel for CW22 is still "on" in Raleigh, but it is freezing a lot... like the other HD channels in Raleigh were yesterday before DIRECTV took them off the air.
It wouldn't help you see the game, its on NBC Sports Net (603)
Hope the local issue gets cleared up soon
I am wondering if it really is an issue with a bird or not. If it was wouldn't New York and other east coast cities be affected?
Still out in Greensboro NC
Yeah, our HD CBS local was doing the same thing here in the Philly market last night, although today they've switched to the same message screen as all the others. They obviously gave up even trying to deliver that feed.
Oh well, at least the SD channels all still work. But in trying to watch them, I'm kind of ashamed to learn just how much of an HD snob I've really become. Man, have I been spoiled. (1wp)
Looks like the HD locals are back up in the Boston area.
Still out in Charlotte, NC
Back up in Philly just now, too.
No audio on Channel 4, but at least it's progress!
I just checked and we have Everything but FOX back.
Fox is back on now, as well.
I know I will be on the phone with them asking for credits.
After almost 24 hrs of no local HD I rebooted my system and now everything works. Coincidence?
FOX is what I am waiting for since I am watching the NASCAR race
