Well, you can turn all the SD channels off in your box, but I doubt that's what you meant.

DirecTV does not offer an "HD Only" package.

I don't think anybody offers a "Just HD" package at the moment.

Not today, but I'll bet in a couple of years you won't even see a price difference between HD and NON hd packages, It'll just be back to what channels you want.... It'll be the easiest way for D* (and other providers as well) to increase there fees without ticking off the higher paying customers, just like D* has done with LIL.

6-7 years, everything will probably be HD anyway. No actual requirement that a channel is in HD, but there kind of is. Eventually, if you're a channel still broadcasting an SD signal, your ratings are probably going to drop because everybody wants HD.

In the not so distant future there probably won't be any more HD option.

DIRECTV would not save anything by offering an HD only package.

There would be no savings to pass on.

What would be the point? You will be able to soon filter "Don't show SD if HD" automatically.

In the not too distant future. Somewhere in time and space. Dave and his DBS pals are caught in an endless thread. I can't wait for everything to be HD.
