Thanks Movieman........saved me from making a call to D*.
Your very welcome guys. Lets just keep an eye on it to make sure that it does get fixed otherwise another call might be needed. I would just ask that we each take a peak at the DOD throughout the week and the first person to see a change to reply here. Maybe save this thread so it doesn't get lost.
I sub to the package and both channels download fine for me no error's
1079 & 1552
I think what is happening (from what I was told by the tech tiers) is that the DOD is seeing HDnet as part of the HD Extrapack which it no longer is. If you have HD Extrapack then you should be seeing it perfect. Its the rest of us that will most likely not get the DOD working until they fix our accounts.
time line for the account fix?
They did an immediate escalation of the issue but the tier 2 tech told me that check it in a few days to see the difference but he could not commit to a time frame. Sorry about that. I can only send the message cant control their speed. . Thats why i posted before that we each take a peak throughout the week. Should be fixed for everyone at the same time not just one person but if I post that it got fixed first for me I will gladly call them back.
Sorry, I didn't even look at 1079. I figured HDNet would be 1306. I forgot the old MPEG2 numbers.
Im not sure about you guys but I dont have access to DOD right now. I was trying to check and everything is whited out. Maybe they are working on it. I will post tomorrow another update if I see any more changes.
i downloaded 2 "HDNET MOVIES" movies and tried watching them via DIRECTV2PC, and both played in a 4:3 window stretched vertically. i'm in bed and haven't tried it on my main display.
i've used DIRECTV2PC for hundreds of hours, and this is a new one for me.
BTW...i subscribe to HD Extras.
Then your is working properly. As for my update by DOD came back online this morning but the fix is not there so will have to continue checking for it.
Just an update. My DOD with this issue is still not fixed. Im going to give them through the weekend. If not I will be calling again on Monday to follow up on the issue. If anyone else is getting different results please post.
Still a no go for me as well!
This happened to me a few days ago. Resetting the network to defaults, rebooting, then setting up the network again fixed it for me.
I called and spoke to tech support. They had no update for me but were looking at the issue.
Still getting the order now message here.
I don't think HDnet was ever part of Extrapack.....was it?.....I never noticed it.
I never noticed that it either but they stated that it was and was later removed but the DOD never was updated. I can checking as frequently as I can remember. One thing I was told by tier 2 is that they are not just going to fix it but move it in the DOD list. They say its should be channel 1079 when HDnet is 306.
I'm having the same issue here as well this morning.
They were going to move it since it meets the criteria of the HD Extra pack, stations without SD counterparts, but there was a contractual conflict they had with Cuban that said his HD channel must be in a standard HD package. This is probably where the confusion comes in. I find some of this discussion a little amusing since everyone is so hot to be able to DOD the channel, but based on the uproar when the HD Extra Pack began few thought it was worth paying for...
This is an old thread but I am still not able to download anything from HDNet on demand (getting the call to upgrade your package message).
I have contacted Directv and after a few email back and forth that were no help, the issue was turned over to a "specialist." She called me this afternoon and she try to convince me that:
1) I am receiving HDNet broadcast channel because of a system wide error which she will make sure gets corrected asap
2) I don't get HDNet on demand because I don't pay for the channel so I have not right to get it
3) I am lucky because I have enjoyed HDNet for free for so long
4) HDNet is going to be moved to the Extra pack
5) I will not be able to get channel 79 soon because the channel will be a premium channel
After that she wished me happy holiday and pretty much hanged up on me.
Since I have not see it linked above, this is the link to the HDNet press release about on demand on Directv:
The relevant part being:
I have sent another email quoting the passage above and asking to fix the issue. We'll see what kind of answer I get this time.
