It has been stated and quoted here that "the DVR will not record duplicate episodes even if the SL is set to record all episodes." If this is correct why does my SL(original episode only) for the new Rome show record the same "new" episode 6-8 times daily? Advise if this needs to be in a another/new thread.

Because the Guide Data does Not Correctly state that the Broadcast is "First Run".

Directv could program around this inaccurate Guide Data Problem as TiVo does but has chose not to do it as yet.

My Boolean Argument is as Follows:
"AALL PGA TOUR LIVE NNOT EUROPEAN LPGA" and then Selecting Sports and Golf as Sub-Categories.

Glad this is getting fixed. Now if they would only allow us to put a search string in longer than 30 characters I would be able to set this up. As it is now, doesn't help us that haven't already got the search inputted!

    Richie,

I see you appear to be having success in adding additional elements to the NNOT command? So if I didn't want Champions, I could add it?

I didn't think it was necessary to exclude LPGA as I thought it was named differently?

My Boolean already picked up the Valero Texas open for next week and it did not include the LPGA events on the golf channel on sat and sun. I did not have it within the Booleanter to exclude.

Also, did I read some where that there is a 30 character limit to a search?

If the metadata that's attached to the show says it is "first run", the DVR will record it (even if technically speaking it is a duplicate). It only tests for duplicates if it is designated as a repeat.

Well this seems to work now that DTV fixed the guide data:
AALL PGA TOUR GOLF NNOT EUROPEAN

Wondering what is actually counted with the 30 characters?

    Spaces? Do operators count?

Because the above string is 27 not counting spaces.

I am sure I learned a week or two ago that Directv had corrected the 30 Character Limitation.

Also, in the Past, Searching for PGA Tour would bring up LPGA Events which I then deleted if I didn't want to watch them so hopefully they have corrected that as well.

My Boolean Argument uses well over 30 Characters so I believe it has been fixed.

Cool stuff, sounds like they fixed a handful of issues. I definately did not get any LPGA with my new string a few days ago. I looked into next week and there were several being shown on the GC which were not being recorded.

I may try AALL PGA TOUR GOLF LIVE NNOT EUROPEAN CHAMPIONS and see what this does. Sometimes I want to watch Champions and sometimes not. I might just leave Champions off the NNOT part and just delete what I don't want to watch.

Let me know if things seem ok as we go into the next few weeks. :)

I like PGA Tour Events First and then the Champions PGA Tour Events but I don't want LPGA or Nationwide or European Events cluttering up my Playlist.

I Do Watch Major LPGA Events and I like to see the Champions Tour with Fred Couples and others as I grew up with them and occasionally I watch Nationwide Events but those I Manually Record.

I am Really Stoked that DIRECTV Finally fixed our Problem (which is also Directv's Problem as it affects e very Golf Viewer that cares to Autorecord Golf Events) go KUDOS to DIRECTV for tireless efforts to get this problem Resolved. :hurah:

"My Boolean Argument uses well over 30 Characters so I believe it has been fixed."

It still limits me to 30 characters (including spaces) on the HR34.

You don't have to include Golf in your Argument just PGA Tour and then Select Sports and Golf as your Subcategories.

DIRECTV fixed the problem where the second National Broadcast (ABC, CBS or NBC) was considered a Repeat and Not a "First Run" Episode.

This semi fixed the problem. Was able to eliminate the Champions from my search by entering "AALL PGA LIVE NNOT CHAMPIONS". The problem is I would also like to eliminate the Nationwide and this string won't allow me to do it. When I set up a separate one for "AALL PGA LIVE NNOT NATIONWIDE" it does eliminate Nationwide but lets Champions back in! Seems like it's going to be a work in progress until they allow 50 characters again.

    Nope!!!

Not unless they give us back 50 Characters for our Boolean Search Arguments.

I guess it's too much to ask for the guide data companies to come up with a system that ensures proper sports season passes.

Yes, It Is Too Much To Ask For Them To Get It Right, so Go Sit In The Corner Until We Tell You When To Come Out!!!
