I made mention this summer, that I still didn't have it, in hopes that it would be turned on.. but the CSR really didn't understand what I was asking. since I was not asking for my local channels to be turned on..

but yesterday.. out of the clear blue sky, the CWe was on.. and it was on for my locals as well, just not my other locals.. and I haven't checked today.. may be my locals are on as well..

We get it as part of locals - and since our local CW doesn't broadcast in HD, programs listed in the Guide as HD...aren't.

    So, I don't watch it.

Do you mean channel 394? I just looked and I'm getting programing on that station. However ,I am seeing programing that does not match the guide, but should be showing on the E Channel. Tunning to the E Channel (236) gets me channel not purchased. Looks like someone at Directv got their wires crossed this morning.

I have no idea, but a few months ago DirecTV started to offer the other coast to subscribers for the network DNS channels. I am grandfathered in to both coast SD DNS channels and only the east coast HD at the time. Now I get the west coast HD as well. Of course, I'm paying for that privilege.

You didn't answer the question about the channel number you get CW on.

Have you checked your account online to see if you're paying for it?

Also, what's your location? Does DirecTV offer your locals?

Yes..Locals are available... but I am grandfathered in with the distant networks since 1992... I currently have never taken my locals..

Are you paying for The CW DNS?

No, not free, $2.50per month if you qualify for DNS. New rate increase will jump the cost to $3.50 per month.

bjlc: Probably not. Most customers who were grandfathered into their DNS channels either got East or West only (depending on their locale) . If you check your online account for active services, or even a previous bill, it will show which service you have.

I have the CW DNS package since my local CW is a subchannle that DirecTV doesn't carry, and I can't pick it up at my house with the AM21.

Sea bass is correct it is $2.50 a month.

I really wish they would add it in HD though. I probably won't care after Smallville ends though. I may even drop the DNS channel unless I find something else on there I really care to watch.

It's $2.50 for one coast, $3.50 for both coasts. You're probably getting The CW because you don't get it in your locals.

I'm grandfathered into both coasts for the main four networks in SD. Up until a couple of months ago I only got the east coast in HD. This was right about the time that DirecTV dropped the SD versions in the 380s. The SD versions are now tuned using the 390s. If you have your guide set to display all SD and HD, you'll see two channels listed, one for SD and one for HD.

Hmmm, I wonder if I could get DirecTV to give me The CW since they can't come to an agreement to carry it with our locals. :)
