    Earl

You mentioned that you were aware of someone coming out with a good esata solution for our HR20's last spring, and that you'd probably know more this summer. Well its getting close to football and the fall season, and a whole lot more HD, and I will need more space by Septebmer. Any updates for us???

I know... I'm refering to a specific box that is supposed to be cosmetically similar to a av component... at least thats what Earl seemed to hint at.

    Dripping...
Better yet, when will the software be changed to allow for both internal and external drives to be usable at the same time?

Such a waste to have +300 gigs go unused, plus it is still running.

    Actually.... Yes... partial update.

The company that is designing/building them are going through some final stages of that process...

So while it might not make it for the start of football season... it is fairly close

FWIW, I for one, am interested in a certified solution via a kit that includes the drive (or drives of various sizes), carefully documented instructions, and the proper cable, all from and supported by DirecTV.

Assembling the various parts and free lancing a solution is not all that difficult and is probably less expensive than buying from D*, but I prefer adding parts certified and supported by the folks at D*.
