Setup went smooth. When I went to play a recording it gave me this error. Cannot play DTCP content. AKE Fail.

After the download of 120e, my PC software could see the HR20-700 and I couls see the playlist and pick a program to view. But once I tried I got a "Cannot play DTCP. AKE Fail." error. I tried both MPEG2 & MPEG4 programs.

Same here. Tried playing Late Night with Conan which was recorded last night from WNBC, same error message. I'm gonna try a couple of different recordings to see if I can get anything to play.

I have received the update now on two of my units. But my 3rd (main unit) I have not received the update. It has not actually even tried to download it yet. When I got up this morning two of them were stuck trying to download the software and the 3rd was at live TV and still have last weeks CE software.

ditto .. to me, it seems like a broadcast storm because I cannot get out to the Internet while it's trying to talk to the HR20

Yep, I can confirm that too. From the PC running the software, I can't access the Internet while pulling up a show. The rest of the network seems to be running fine.

Yeah, I've tried numerous recordings from different shows, and several showcases. All come up with the "Cannot play DTCP content. AKE Fail." error message. Before the error message comes up the processing swirly thing comes up in the center of the screen for about 25 seconds before it times out to the error message.

"DirecTV HMC Lite Server" does show up with my other network devices.

On a side note, anyone else goto the menu and see that there's closed captioning options?

The playback software still takes over 30 seconds to load on my computer, seems to hang the entire system before it eventually pops up. Same thing happens when exiting, but Vista is able to recover each time.

That's interesting .. The software may include a firewall so that you can't go off-LAN. That could be the real reason that we can't get to the Internet while using the software (actually playing a program, that is).

    Dripping...
Like others have reported get the AKE failure trying to play both SD and HD content and do not see the HMC Lite Server in my Network Neighborhood.

I tried rebooting my laptop, still the same. For the heck of it I tried it on another PC, the same problem occurs.

I just tried that and I can't either. But, once the error pops up I can get on the internet.

Like I posted above I am getting the same message as everyone else that mine is not working.

But something I can't figure out is how to get back to where you select the unit you want to use. Has anyone figured out how to do this?

This should probably go under the PC software discussion thread (assuming there will be one).

When I am browsing through the list of shows in the PC application, the initial list loads up fine right the down and up arrows on the bottom left. When using the down and up arrow buttons on the screen very often the buttons will disappear and I have to move the mouse cursor over the list of programs for them to come back.

Click on Menu in the bottom left and then goto settings.
