I'm a long ways from you guys up there but if I was NHL king for a day, that's one of the first things that I'd do, open up all feeds in the northeast as there are several teams that overlap in a relatively small area of the country. All feeds would be open at all NHL outlets, CI, NHL Netwk, VS.

Anyone else in the New York DMA blacked out from the Flyers-Canadiens game on the NHL Network?

I think the NHLN has 12 or 13 games with the Flyers this season.I get them fine on Center Ice.I honestly wish they'd just disappear. That channel has caused me (and others) so fricking much grief.

At least we're going to get a Hockey Night In Canada broadcast, on Saturday Night. Probably because it's two Canadian teams playing, Vancouver vs Toronto.

This I think is the crux of the problem. The NHLN is using their "own" larger blackout rules that don't necessarily jive with CI or the other TV provider's blackout rules, thus some of us get blacked out of NHLN games we really shouldn't be.

It's silly in my case, because Comcast SportsNet Philadelphia isn't available in the area via Comcast cable. Viewers in other areas have the same problem being out-of-market for games on an RSN, but considered in-market for games on NHL Network.

I see Jets vs Ducks game listed for early CBC game (770-1) but don't think it will be in HD as it is only listed to be broadcast on the local Winnipeg CBC channel. Hope i'm wrong though.

...to have a rational explanation for why DirecTV again keeps the commercials on after the Winnipeg game ends and then as soon as it goes back to Ron and Don they pull the plug?

Oh wait...this is DirecTV so they don't owe us any explanations do they? Sorry I forgot....

Did you noticed when they turned the channel back on 6 mins later for oilers/sharks, they were still on CBC Manitoba? The reason for the turn off had thought to have been a switch over to a different CBC feed.

Where does this endless complaining end? If I told you before the season that we'd be getting almost every single game, including Canadian TSN, Rogers, and HNIC in HD you'd be thrilled. Let's just give some credit where it's due.

DTV and/or the NHL finally realized that SD wasn't acceptable anymore has made great improvements to Center Ice.

Now...if they'd just kill that damn crawl during games on NHL Network it would be damn near perfect.

I wonder which HD feed we'll be getting from todays Calgary/Chicago game? A back haul HD feed from Calgary or the WGN feed from Chicago? My guess, the back haul HD feed from Calgary. Kind of funny that we are getting a Canadian HD feed over an U.S. HD feed. I still don't understand why they can't use the WGN HD feeds for NHLCI? If any channel is showing sports it should be allowed to be used in that sports package. Oh well, maybe one day it'll be fixed.

Ok ok I'll stop complaining, at least we're getting the game in HD. ;)

Local ad's? any ways in Canadian systems you do get WGN 9 HD (no black out's) and some times WGN HD shows up on the Canadian systems center ice.

I was extremely disappointed to watch the MSG feed of Rangers/Coyotes last night and see the dreaded crawl on the bottom of the screen for the first time. I suspect it was only due to the MSG/TWC negotiations which are likely to result in the removal of MSG from TWC in NYC again. Although the crawl did give NBA and NHL scores, it mostly had ALERT**** in caps reminding people of the issue. 3 times during the game Sam Rosen also made a "public service announcement" telling TWC customers to call and complain.

I hope once the negotiations are concluded (or 1/1/12 when MSG will be off TWC) the crawl will go away. One can only hope.
