I was talking to someone in the Protection Plan department. He said because there is nothing wrong with my equipment the computer was going to charge me an equipment upgrade fee. That's when I had to act a fool to get a resolution. :)

DirecTV's customer service leaves a lot to be desired lately. None of their csr's or tech's are on the same sheet of music. Same goes for their installers. Most are far less knowledgeable about their product and service then we here at DBSTALK are. As I posted earlier it took me three attempts to get this problem resolved. And it doesn't do any good to bring this up the chain. Just falls on deaf ears! I make a handsome living with income properties. If I treated tenants the way we are by DirecTV I'd have more problems than a dead monkey on a rock!

That's because some of them have 3LNB setups and can't get all of the music. :D

People are actually getting equipment changed to listen to Jingle Bells. How pathetic on Directv's part that they haven't addressed this yet and moved the channel and package requirements so all can hear Jingle Bells.:preach:

You either don't have the right package (Choice Ultimate or above) or you have a 3LNB Slimline, not the 5LNB Slimline.

It's not just "Jingle Bells". As I posted earlier there are 17 Sonic Tap channels coming off the 119 bird that Premier customers are paying for and not getting unless they have a 5 LNB setup.

I'm wondering if there are any other channels besides the 17 Sonic Tap that we aren't getting?

DirecTV installer coming today to replace my 3LNB with a 5LNB.. installer was here yesterday to diagnose, and knew about the 119 satellite requirement.

he tried to argue around replacing, but I printed out my choice ultimate package and clearly showed him I should be getting these channels. He indicated that they now only deploy 5LNB for businesses.. He talked to his supervisor...

I'll let you know how it goes later today..

This may have been mentioned, but I miss the multiple holiday music channels we used to get.

Now, they can't even get one right.

So I have Choice Ultimate, but I don't have channel 815. Reading comments of other users, It seems I would need a different dish setup? I just got mine installed 2 weeks ago.

The you probably have a 3LNB dish. You won't be able to receiver ch815 and a few other music channels because they are on a satellite that your dish can't see.

Some of you guys really want Holiday Music channels and other music stations. I can respect wanting what you pay for.

IMO, it's ironic that with all the home media gadgets we have that there's such a want for Holiday Music channels on satellite TV service. ;)

The appeal of a Holiday music channel is the diversity you get in artist, genre, etc. With regular music, I tend to stick with a fairly narrow range of music, but with Holiday music, that range broadens vastly. It would be a lot of work to build a collection encompassing what can be achieved with Holidays & Happenings.

To me, that's the appeal of that channel. Plus my wife likes it. ;)
