    OK, I'll post:

I can get up to 3500 late at night but this is one of the big limitations of rural WiMAX. The backhaul is usually a WiMAX link also so getting your full rated 5MB is very unlikely

I have the 6.0 DSL from AT&T and I really can't complain. It seems to be faster than most of the sites I have visited. VOD never downloads faster than 3, maybe 4 mbps anyway. My brother has Comcast for internet and his VOD is no faster either. I would rather keep what I have rather than support the competition:)

This is what I get, but like most folks with Comcast, it's really a lie unless all you do is web-surf. The numbers reflect the temporary "speed boost". If you download continuously for more than about 5 seconds, you get throttled back to the "official speed", which in my case is 8Mb down, 768k up. But to be fair, I really *do* get 8Mb down and 768k up. I've never had a Comcast-related network slow-down that I'm aware of in over 6 years. There have been a number of outages, a couple lasting more than a day, but overall I can't complain about anything but the price, which is high at about $80/month.

This is my speed test via Time Warner Cable RoadRunner. I did this test via my laptop on my wireless network, with another desktop using the connection in another room. I pay for 7,000 kb/s.

IIRC I pay $59.95/mo for the cable internet.

    edit:
this morning's test, funny that the Dallas server is no longer very responsive.
