I've been comparing my speeds on my desktop to my networked laptops as well and they're coming in pretty close to each other. But, if you check my sig, I have significantly lower speeds than you do. Is there an upper speed limit most wireless networks hit?

I get about 1300 kb/s down and 200 kb/s up on my Sprint Mobile Broadband which is on the EVDO Rev A Network. Im about 25 yards away from a sprint cell tower though, and right now Im only getting about 800 kb/s down due to heavy cell traffic, but it beats dialup at about 20 kb/s and its completely unlimited so it beats Hughesnet hands down at the same price per month ($60).

needless to say, I do not think I will be using the VOD service all that much.

Thought I'd try out the speedtest.net site. Kind of cool...

I have Verizon DSL with 3.0 Mbs...speed is not lightning fast but download times are not bad.

Not sure where to post this but in general very happy with having VOD service available (additional viewing option)
I like that VOD provides another way to search for content that interests you, content that is considered top picks in the category/content, you have the ability to watch something that you might have missed/didn't know about before and able to watch something that might never be back on TV and available to record ever again

    skakusha,

I think the place in Lauderdale they use for that test is on the Comcast network. I get speeds even faster than that when I use that site. Try the location in Miami or Jacksonville for a little more accurate view.
