I have a Denon AVR-2807 receiver on order. I am expecting it this week.

I was wondering if anyone here has any experience with the 2807 and it's interaction/interface with the HR20?

Specifically I would like to know any positives or negatives with this combination.

Also will I be able to program the HR20 remote to control this A/V receiver?

Will I be able to control the volume for the TV and the A/V receiver thru this remote?

As always thanks for any feedback. :)

I have a Denon AVR-1802. From what I have seen, there is only one Denon code available in the HR20 Remote Programming list. It did not work for me. The Remote is capable of controlling my Hitachi 57" TV just fine, but I don't run any sound to the TV, so that is moot for me. Good Luck.

I have this combination and have been running my HR20 through my AVR-2807 via HDMI for two weeks now with no issues.

I am having none of the problems with HDMI and Dolby Digital that others have reported with the HR20. The one Denon receiver remote code works perfectly with the 2807.

I couldn't be happier with the combination, it is a fantastic receiver.

Denon codes available in the RC24 are 31360, 30004, and 30160. UEI denon codes 0160 & 0004 are at least 12 years old.

    Off topic:

Are you actually using the 2807 in 7.1 surround mode? I've been looking at this unit as well in case my Onkyo's HDMI pink screen does not get fixed. But I only use left/center/right/sub. The wife won't go for speakers all over her living room. She just doesn't understand..............

Dunno if this will help but I use a Denon AV2106 (no hdmi) passthru and I have issues with the DD audio not being detected sometimes when I change channels. Its set to currently autodetect the signal, which it fails here and there. I have no idea if this is an issue with the HR20 or the Denon.

I get my Plasma tomorrow and I am going to hook up my HR20, Plasma and my Denon AVR2807. This will be the first time using the AVR2807.

I think I am just going to hook it up via the digital optical cable and not use the HDMI.

Do you or anyone here using the Denon AVR 2807 with the HR22 have any tips, comments, or suggestion for me?

    Thanks

    Mike :)

I have the Denon 2807 and have been using it for about a month now with the HR20.

As everyone previously has mentioned, no issues with DD or HDMI. It switches video via HDMI perfectly. Its nice to only have 1 cable running to the AVR-2807 from the HR20.

I am using a Harmony 880 and I am not sure about the RC24 remote. The Harmony controls it well, except if you put something on VDP in which case you have to configure VDP in a goofy way.

I am operating it in 7.1. I have been using Dolby NEO:6 for my SD recording and Dolby Digital EX for my DD HD recordings. It does a good job at splitting up the audio between my back 4 speakers.

I still think the coolest feature is the auto setup / room calibration. I have 1 speaker that sits back farther than the others and the 2807 figured that out then made appropriate audio adjustments.

The one thing that doesn't work is on screen display when the video source is HDMI. I think it has something to do with the DRM/security and tampering with the video feed. It works on other sources, just not HDMI.

I have the AVR-3200 and attempted to use the HR20 remote to turn off and on the receiver. I entered the code shown on the screen (31360) and tested the receiver and it worked fine. The problem began when I entered 993 and pressed select. The screen froze and I could not continue with the process unless I moved the top slider to Directv and then it no longer operated the receiver. By the way I programed all the TV functions first including the volume and TV input.

    Any suggestions?

I finally got my HR20 and AVR2807 hooked up today. I ran into some problems but finally solved them.

I was wondering if anyone could explain to me what I need to do to get the FM radio tuner working on the AVR287?

I am not using the HDMI since I was concerned about possible degradation of the PQ going with going through another device(AVR2807). So I am just hooked up via the optical cable from the HR20 through the AVR2807.

Can someone help me to get the FM radio working.

Also I do not have front speakers attached to the AVR2807 so I am using my PLasma TV speaker. I only have a subwoofer and 2 surround speakers attached to the AVR2807.

    Thanks :)
