Is anyone also seeing there light ring seem to be pulsing when it is on?
It's because the HR21 is so turned on by you.:uglyhamme :icon_lol: !rolling
The light ring pulses when you pause. I turn mine off so it doesn't bother me anyway (it's also a way of telling when the box has rebooted (especially good when waiting for updates!)).
It's a mood light ring.
Does anyone know how to turn on DHCP on the 700. I am having a heck of a time connecting wirelessly without using my laptop. I am using a linksys gameing adaptor.
You manually enter the data under network setup. You can assign IP, DHCP that matches your network.
There are other posts on this same subject right now... anxious to see if others are seeing this.
I am serious.
Any of you with an HR21-700 when your light ring is at it's bright does it pulse/flicker?
Different than when it's Paused? The only time it should "pulse" is when your DVR is Paused. If it's acting strangely at other times, try resetting the DVR.
My older HR20's ring of blue sometimes gets confused and pulses when it is not paused, but a quick pause/un-pause cures it of its troubles.
It is pulsing fast, not the slow dim then bright when paused.
Reset...lol Been reset a few times because of the lockup problems.
Mine does also, and I posted the very same question last night. I got mine yesterday. I could be wrong, but it seems to be a characteristic of the unit, and doesn't appear(at least from the responses I got) to be a problem.
My HR21-700 does not pulse except when doing a function....when just watching or recording it is steady blue
Hmmm, makes me wonder if it a faulty unit. If it's something that will cause no harm, I don't want to go through the hassle of getting some refurb sent to that I don't want. Last time I got a refurb sent, it had no packing around it......just loose in a box, flopping around. A quick angry phone call got a brand new one in the mail right away.
There's another thread on this already...but in general, it appears to be normal.
I just called D about it, and they say it's known issue, and should be fixed in an update. Time will tell, I guess. Some people say they are not having the problem though
With the HR21-700 just coming to the market very recently, it may be possible as well, that some are not up to date with their firmware - the latest national version is 16D.
Had to force a download to get the latest version just about a half hour ago(that's another story lol), and no more flickering......not even the slightest!
Great - had a feeling it was not up to date.
Enjoy your HR21!
