I just got my new Samsung PN50C8000 plasma 3D TV hooked up, and just tried out the 3D capabilities of the HR24. Since there are no World Cup games on at the moment, and I don't have my receiver hooked up to the internet at this time, the only 3D material was the 3D DirecTV logo on channel 106. This looked very good in 3D.
My issue is, I went to the guide, and text is not very clear. It almost looks the same with and without the glasses, like some of the letters are merging together. About the only way I can describe it is the left and right fields are being created, but they are being "overlayed" on top of each other, and not being separated into two images.
I am going to attempt to get a picture of that somewhat demonstrates what I'm seeing (the pic obviously won't be in 3D).

PS The HR24 is directly wired into the TV, as my A/V receiver will not pass on any 3D signal (from the HR24 or my PS3).

Push was successful, but after live TV came back, the overlay "Acquiring guide data...." did not go away no matter what I tried. Dish is set properly and all satellites report strong data.

Menu reboot made the message go away (at least for now...)

Boss, I think you locked the other issue threat on the -200s a little too quick.

Audio and video locked up after numerous 30-second slips. Earlier, since the time of the push, I had done a lot of fast forwarding, rewinding and back skipping and slipping. Menu restart.

After between 7-10 30-second slips the video again locked up. Menu restart.

(Observation - FWIW the unit failed much faster this time than after the software was first pushed to the machine. The next time this locks-up I will do a RBR to see if that makes the unit more robust against these kinds of problems.)

Here are 2 pictures that show what I was trying to describe above. I know what you're saying, these are 2D pictures of a 3D channel, but, it looks almost identical with the 3D glasses on or off. Also, it may look like a crappy cellphone picture (it is), but the fuzziness is due to the GUI, not the camera.
Another interesting observation, and I'm not sure if it's by design or not, but when bringing up any part of the GUI (guide, menu, progress bar, etc), the video stops playing in 3D. The TV still recognizes the video stream as 3D, as the 3D function on the TV does not turn off, but all video being displayed is showing as 2D. (Maybe this requires more pictures...)

And here they are. The first 3 are obviously the 3D channel, and you can notice a difference between the images with and without the progress bar. The one without the progress bar has that 3D fuzziness to it, and with the bar, it does not, although the text does. And, to me anyway, the text looks the same with and without the 3D glasses.

This is the 2d time in less then a week that my H has not worked. Last Saturday I found it with the front panel lights on and unresponsive to any remote or front panel command and it was putting a black screen to the TV, report sent then. Just now I turned it on, front panel lights came on and it is responding to commands, but nothing is coming out tot he TV. My sammy just tells me "Searching for Signals". Did an rbr that got it working and reports sent. Since this is still the ship firmware, I do not know if my problems are due to that or a malfunctioning unit. Only getting an update will tell me that.

    Report: 20100618-2385

I was using FF x3 during a pre-recorded show and the playback locked-up. Since the menu reset of yesterday I had not done much with any trickplay function. As I posted yesterday I will do a RBR to see if that clears issues for longer than a menu re-boot, because I really did have good results yesterday after initially receiving the push.

    Report: 20100618-4614

As I was going through about an hour's worth of the HR24-200's buffered programming at FF x3, the video froze as it went into play. I could skip back or forward, but not go into Play. I was recording one show at the time.

My Menu Reset v. RBR theory does not appear to be valid, but I did do another RBR after this and will try that theory once more before I go back to Menu resets when possible.

    Report: Unable To Generate

I was watching a different program in the buffer than my earlier issue. As I was slipping and fast forwarding through the show the video froze. This time I was able to sucessfully skip to the end, which was the live program. I didn't generate a report immediately but 2-3 minutes later, after a few more trickplays, the machine fully locked up and I was unable to generate a report. RBR accomplished.
