I'm looking to pick up a HR24 today. Any stores stock them or is Directv & Solid Signal the only place to get them?

No normal chains. Perhaps local satellite installer if they have a local presence/storefront.

There are other online stores have the HR24's available, you just need to search around a little. Remember they will be leased units.

Many folks have luck with SolidSignal and I got my last H24 from ABT Electronics with free shipping. But to my knowledge there are no B&M's that have them.

Thanks for the help! I'll try calling Directv to see if I can get it cheaper, if not I will order from Solid Signal.

At this point I would be surprised if any B&M stores had any stock of any receivers left.

DirecTV will not guarantee a specific model, you may end up with a HR20-HR24 or anything in between.

    Good luck.

I see solid signal offers a normal one and a commercial one. Any difference? Also, will Directv have to have a guy come out to activate it or will they allow me just to call them?

As long as you have the necessary lines run for it (two lines for a legacy setup or one for a SWM setup), you should be able to do it yourself.

As for the commercial vs. non-commercial version, with the receiver itself there is no difference. The different product pages are probably just for Solid Signal as they might have receivers that DirecTV specified are only for commercial clients.

Hr24-500 from 6ave and a refurbished WET610N-RM Wireless-N Bridge from Cisco arrived yesterday. Both items ordered last Thursday. Now just waiting on my "free" b band converters from DirecTV.
