    My remote seems to function the same as an RC64. TV volume, power, input....

    I didn't try the TV set up. I did have problems assigning code set 00003. It just wouldn't take using the standard method. I had to switch to advanced mode and then it worked. The process for the remote was the same between the two methods, but the software entry point for the HR24 was different. My guess is there could be a SW problem. If you are having problems with the TV , it could be related to ones I saw as that method is similar to the standard AV1/AV2 redirect.

    How do you have yours setup? A little background on it would help.

    The coax not linked issue is the same as I am experiencing. I was hoping the DECA hardware would fix the problem, but it looks like it may now be software or actual HW failure. See my posts in the issues thread. http://www.dbstalk.com/showthread.php?p=2305314#post2305314

    Could be your setup or a hardware failure. Mine works fine. Have you tried powering down all receivers, SWM, and DECA. Then power SWM, DECA, and lastly receivers? Never had that error code on old DECA or the new DECA

    My Deca equipment hasn't arrived yet. I am just communicating from H24 to HR24. Did the power down trick, reset everything, etc. with no change. Going to power off the HR24 for at least 30-45 minutes when I get home tonight to see if that helps shake it loose. I wish we could do a SW force to see if there I have a bad SW laod. The concern I have is that at least one other tester has the same symptom.

    I have been in the DECA trials and been using the DECA clould on this SWM with a few swaps to be able to add the HR24 so I am not new to DECA. While I had all DECA's removed in anticipation of the new batch, I had the HR24 connected via cat5e cable and it tested against my home network switch fine. Since taking everything off my home network and putting it back on a DECA clould with the HR24, everything works as before except the HR24 won't use its internal DECA to see the cloud and connect.

    SWM8-->SWMPI-->DECA Filter-->2-way splitter #1-->
    2-way splitter #1 a line-->DECA-->H21-200
    2-way splitter #1 b line-->2way splitter #2-->

    2-way spitter #2 a line-->DECA-->HR20-700
    2-way splitter #2 b line-->4-way splitter-->

    4-way splitter 4a line-->DECA-->Network Switch and DECA PI
    4-way splitter 4b line-->DECA-->HR21-700
    4-way splitter 4c line-->HR24-500
    4-way splitter 4d line-->reflector/not used

    I was in the orginal trials as well. You could try switching lines with the HR24 as an option if it is convenient. Otherwise I am at a loss. I assume you have tried restarting your SWM and DECA.

    Seems like we're a little earlier for this Field Trial then the others.

    Never got equipment with big "not for sale" and version numbers before. :)

    But you never know ...

    Yeah, I did the DECA's but the SWM is under the house in the crawl space...not a tonight job if you know what I mean:) My understanding from the DECA trials was that the SWM merely provided the frequency band for the "DECA highway" to use and since the other DECA receivers seem to be seeing the network fine, indicates to me that the "highway" is fine also...but as you say you never know and it is worth a shot at restarting the SWM also. I just tried unpluggin the HR24 for several minutes on a lark to see if that would change anything, but no joy.:nono2:

    69hokie,
    Is there any way to move these splitters around? Not that it's going to help your HR24, but your 4-way is placed way down the power level end.
    SWM8-->SWMPI-->DECA Filter-->2-way splitter #1-->
    2-way splitter #1 a line-->DECA-->H21-200
    2-way splitter #1 b line-->2way splitter #2-->

    2-way spitter #2 a line-->DECA-->HR20-700
    2-way splitter #2 b line-->4-way splitter-->

    4-way splitter 4a line-->DECA-->Network Switch and DECA PI
    4-way splitter 4b line-->DECA-->HR21-700
    4-way splitter 4c line-->HR24-500
    4-way splitter 4d line-->reflector/not used

    SWM -30 dBm -> -4.5 dB splitter --> -4.5 dB splitter --> -8.5 dB splitter-->
    So without cable loss: the H21-200 is @ -35 dBm, while the HR21-700 is @ -48 dBm

    If you could move the 4-way to the first position:
    SWM -30 dBm --> filter --> 4-way:
    DECA --> H21-200 @ -39 dBm
    DECA --> HR20-700 @ -39 dBm
    DECA --> HR21-700 or HR24-500 @ -39 dBm
    2-way -->
    the other DVR [HR21/HR24] @ -44 dBm
    DECA--> PI/ network switch @ don't care.

    This would use one less [2-way] splitter & not send power into the termination [wasted power].

    Hey VOS, I wish I could, but my SWM is at the other end of the house near where one of the HR's is on the clould and all the others are on the other end of the house. Only one cable available...unless I go into a major rewire. I have been wondering if having had the HR24 connected successfully via the 5e when I first got the HR24 active prior to reestablishing the DECA cloud with the new DECA's today might have affected the HR24 (which connected just fine using the 5e when I first got it). But hey...I am back to all greens!!!

    OK, how about a 2-way and then the 4-way.
    What "looks bad" is the 2-way--2-way--4-way and wasting one with a termination.
    ..............................removing ^^ should help.

    Your second jog of me got me to thinking during dinner (Mrs. 69hokie asked me where my mind was and I told her I was listening to VOS!!)...so, here is what I did. Moved the Network DECA into the master bedroom with a new 2-way splitter there (one connection for the moved Network DECA and one connection for the HR20-700/wDECA) since it was the one item that was movable without disrupting viewing locations and I had access to a network switch at the new location. Removed the 4-way splitter since I no longer needed a third connection in the Study and replaced it with a 2-way, one connection for the HR21-700w/DECA and one connection for the HR24. Result is no 4-way and no terminations, but added a 2-way on the other existing cloud leg. Not perfect, but the best I believe can be done short of rewiring in a very, very difficult place:D Thanks for the nudging and the ideas.:) Didn't help the HR24 get connected though..as you had already surmised:nono2:

    Edit: HR24 now connected to network via coax. Reset Everything did the trick.

    Ok, mine locked up when I entered in "Receiver Name" and then hit the down arrow. How were you guys getting around that? Do I have to RBR now?
