I would agree that Frank TV generally has sync issues and that frequently our passion for having problems fixed is influenced by our wives. Polygamy, not for me!

I have an HR20-700 and audio drops out for about 20 seconds 5 minutes before the end of every show on the satellite version of KGO San Francisco ABC affliate channel 7. The dropout does not happen when I watch the same show with my HR10-250 using the OTA version of the channel. (Have not tried the OTA on the HR20-700).

I have problems when playing a recorded show. Sometimes if I stop, then resume play, it fixes itself.

I did not have sync issues when I first got my HR21 back on 11/10. Have had them recently (last 2 weeks or so) on recordings of Dirty Jobs off of Discovery Channel.

Major sync problems, recorded and live. Last night, I, Robot on FXHD was unwatchable and Everybody Loves Raymond on TBSHD is terrible 100% of the time. After almost 12 years with "D" I may have to start looking elsewhere. Not so much because of this problem but the lack of response and acknowledgement regarding this problem.

This is the issue that brought me to this forum. We have at least one dropout on virtually every program, and lip-syncing issues on a handful of programs a week (just last night both 30 Rock and Scrubs were off).

I get both dropouts and sync problems, any I am using DVI, so the sound is not affected by possible HDMI problems.

I don't see as many audio sync issues now. But, they are still around. I've had no dropouts, so far.

Who knows if it's the programmer's or D*'s issue to start with? Is anyone able to compare those channels/programs with a neighbor that is using another provider?

For a while Mythbusters on Discovery Channel HD, either live or DVR, was unwatchable. But, that seems to have been corrected.

Seinfeld on TBS yesterday was terrible for out of sync.

When my daughter comes home, she usually comments on the out of sync problem.

Except for "Frank TV" on TBS (which I commented has never been in sync), I don't ever watch TBS, so yesterday I just tuned by TBS a couple of times and both times it was out of sync.

I too have audio sync issues.

I've had the HR20-700 since Oct and never noticed a problem with my old TV and Component connection. Just got a new TV and now use the HDMI for video only and optical for audio. Sync issues on different channels, not all.

On both my HR20's, I've had audio sync issues on MPEG4 channels for a while now. Greys Anatomy was so bad last night, the person who was i was hearing had finished their sentence already. I did call DTV and they said it was a "known issue" and they were working on it. I also get a complete audio dropout that can only be fixed by putting the box in standby and then turning it back on. Also I've had video lockup that can only be fixed by a reset. These NDS boxes are the biggest POS i've ever had, please please let Tivo develop an MPEG4 box for DTV!!!!

I have HR 20-100 and in just the last 2 to 3 weeks have been having short audio drop outs that sound like they are blocking words. Having terrible sync issues that are sometimes fixed by trick plays (3 seconds replay or pause) and sometimes nothing can fix it. We watch mostly HD channels and recorded shows , it happens on both. This is starting to get really frustrating now. :box: .

I have audio sync issues about 25% of the time now. I get drop outs during almost every Mpeg4 show I watch. Really just amazing how distracting it is...

When you call Dtv they act like they never heard of it before. I am beginning to think I should just cancel it all and rent the tv shows from Netflix a year later.

I voted no as relates to my national release software. Very occasional dropouts that are more to do with the source and I've experienced them directly OTA to TV, thru HR10, and thru H20/HR20. I haven't really seen a major difference there.

(That said CE stays in CE...)

    Another awkward poll.

It needs clarifier's and dealing with separate issues.
    How about more like:

Frequent audio dropouts, frequent audio sync issue
    Occasional of both
    Neither

of course there would need to be several additional choices based on the possible combinations, without it, it becomes close to meaningless.

And then, if these same issues are happening OTA on the same locals D* is providing LiL, then its not D*'s fault....Like Tom mentioned above. I also voted no.

Recommendation: All Polls should need Mod approval b4 posting
